Something About Myself, Even I See As Weird

I have an obsessive interest in Neanderthals and read news about them all the time. The contradictory theories about them are hilarious. Some say Neanderthals were brilliant and advanced, Neanderthals more advanced than previously thought: They innovated, adapted like modern humans, research shows. Some say they were dim-witted. The latest theory was that their big eyes used up too much brain power, making them too stupid to keep on surviving:

Interesting stuff for sure! I just have a hard time believing we "evolved" from them!

We may have mated with them, causing some Neanderthal DNA to get in the mix of the offspring, our predecessors. But it seems Homosapiens were already fully evolved before meeting Neanderthals. There are people in Africa with no Neanderthal DNA whatsoever.

A bit off topic perhaps, but my fishing partner, my 17 yr old daughter (also a fishing partner), and myself engaged in a very in-depth conversation while out on the water regarding Neanderthals and those of a more advanced mindset...

In conclusion to this conversation, we determined there are 2 types of people in this world, the Neanderthals and the Advanced Thinkers...

Quickly a correlation was made that there are very distinct differences, for example; engaging in conversation with the so called Neanderthals generally proves a waste of time... as anything they do or say is generally so out-of-focus that it is of no benefit to anyone, including themselves!

Needless to say, we often joke now (in code) when a person fitting this description enters our circle of friends, and if the word; Neanderthal is mentioned (in code) we all break out in hysterics, as it has happened on several occasions since we established this philosophy.

Naturally, it was not established to hurt anyone or to serve as a direct insult... but man it is hilarious every time we encounter those of this Neanderthal mindset. And as it happens, we see it everywhere!

@art72 Glenn Beck wrote a book called "Arguing With Idiots". Hmmmmm.
