What if Your Life is Just One Big Dream!!!

One of my kids said this to me the other day..... what if my life is just one big dream! Pretty hard thought to get your head around really. If your life is one big dream and one day you wake up, at what point in your life would you wake up?

Then.... just to make things more weird, my other son said..... What if life is just one big game and we are all characters in a game. Someone bigger out in the universe is playing the game and controlling everything we do!!!!

Just some random thoughts I thought I'd share

What if you're just a character in someone else's dream, and when they wake up...

    *POOF*

    ...you're gone!

PS - Haven't seen you in a while. It's good to see you again, Sheryl.

Apparently, the oregano is opiated over there.

What if our dream selves are just us in the pure energy stage of energy/matter oscillation and you have to reach a sleeping resonance for the oscillation to take place?
Yep, strong coffee and meth lab, taste tests, are not a good idea!!!

But as said before stupid theory!

I tend to believe that we are just experiencing ourselves at a higher plane, of existence, whereby we can manifest immediately especially when we are aware of where we are!

Hmmm, same as what you said!

Meth lab, tastings this Friday, bring your own emergency kit! Better give it a miss!!!!

The entire Off Topic section of the Warrior Forum is an "oregano" induced nightmare of Hey Sal. She'll wake up and swear never to indulge again, and we will all disappear.

Then again, HeySal is an "oregano" induced dream I'm having.

Not sure where Dennis fits in, perhaps he's the man behind the curtain pulling the levers.

Sheesh. That's it. No more "oregano" for me.

    Carry on, as you were.

Hmmmm, what if the entire known universe is in an atom, and every atom in the known universe had endless universes with infinite life forms!!!!

And that we are currently in an atom smasher, a couple of atoms up, and everything will cease to exist in the next minute or two?

Hmmm, never liked that idea much!

But if true, it means that Cern, (centre for particle Physics) is killing trillions of life forms daily!

Makes Hitler look like a kid with a hammer by comparison!

What if everyday we wake up in a new life, one we've never had before, but we don't know it because we also wake up with a complete memory of our new life?

What if your dream life were just as significant as your waking life? There are actually two of everyone living lives that are each out-of-focus to the other. All we're allowed are fleeting glimpses. What if there were another completely legitimate reality for you dream self?

If this is the case, I declare my dream self the winner.

A bit like that movie 'Doors' I think it was called with Gwyneth Paltrow, where the movie took on 2 different versions of her life. The outcome very different for each one!

Technically, dreams don't exist. They only exist because we perceive them. Nothing exists unless we perceive it.

The only thing that truly exists is perception.

If the Allman Brothers wrote a song about it, then dammit... it most definitely exists!

Also... if you think you can play the guitar like Derek Trucks , then you literally MUST be dreaming.

According to quantum physics - that's not a possibility. We transcend the physical. And it's a damned good thing, too - because, while there are a lot of wonderful things about this plane of existence - a LOT of things about being physical in nature suck, too.

Good ol Allman Brothers... top band. Guitarist died recently I think. Life is a dream... it's scientifically proven, our perception is part of what makes reality 'real'... therefore technically it i not really much more real than a dream... oooo deep! haha... I love the stuff kids come out with... no internal censorship! It's brilliant. Looks like you are doing a good job with your kids dude!

After 2 years 3 months of research... I found alternative's for essential tools (like gotowebinar, camtasia, survey monkey and many more) that are just as good as the ones you've heard about, but cost a ton less! So good even Guru's like Mike Filsaime have used and recommended them. Click here to find out what most insiders know but don't tell...

This just means I'll have a restart of everything that happened in my life. I would definitely wake up if this is just a dream! There's a part of my life that I want to change if given the chance. But reality is I no longer can. I'll just move on and live life as it is. But if this is a dream, I'd love to wake up for a fresh start.

I deny the possibility of the existence of anything other than that which I can see, because thinking about it hurts my brain too much...

I sat down with my kid the other day and watched all three Men In Black movies, which this conversation reminded me of. Galaxies hanging on the collar of a cat, entire civilizations within a locker at the bus station, a thumb-sized spaceship that could blow up planets on its way past, Lara Flynn Boyle in neglig...

Anyway - life is one big Matrix, yes?

If you want to really bend your mind, look into how the mere act of observing experiments changes their results:

In science, the term observer effect refers to changes that the act of observation will make on a phenomenon being observed.

How would you know? And has dawn EVER happened? I HAVE had dreams that started in the morning and that started at night. Just last night I had one that covered both times.

I thought the same thing as Sheryl's child. Frankly, I hope I wake up. It is NO dream. Last night I had a nightmare and STILL, it was better than the relative dream now.

Having worked 3rd shift, (11 PM. -7 AM), at one point in my life, my dreams didn't start until dawn or after.

      And, what about daydreams?

      But, enough nit-picking....

Could be pretty cool to have a 'do-over' every night.:p

This is one of the most well-established thoughts in modern philosophy, going back to Rene Descartes in the 17th century. Basically, from a subjectional perspective, it would make no difference, as the reality that we know is our reality - it's where our brain lives - and therefore, the only reality that really matters.

The board game idea is an interesting way of putting the free will / determination theory, which is obviously also well established. I think that whether we have free will basically comes down to how much of the world you are prepared to believe. There's nothing to say that even the most basic information we receive - what our senses tell us - is true. But, our body is designed in a way in which to live out a life of free will. If you believe that your body is how scientists say, then determinism does not exist, in the classic way.

However, psychologically, much of our actions have been determined through our genes and through our experiences. These determine what we do. They build up a view of life from which we make our decisions. And, any other information that we take on board is considered through that filter of opinion. So, is there any action that we take, independent of our environment? It's difficult to say. This could also mean that a God who first set everything in motion, billions of years ago, had decided at that point everything that is to happen. And, perhaps that could have been that God's board game.

Expanding on my last post a little bit. We know that the pineal gland releases DMT into our system when we are born and when we die and every night when we are in REM sleep. DMT is the molecule of dreams where we dream so intensely that we don't remember it. We also know that when we die our brain still has 6 to 10 minutes of brain activity which can seem like a lifetime in the dream world. Who's to say that's not "heaven" or whatever you may call it or even our whole life? o_O Food for thought
