My name is Alfred Shelver my wife passed away on Tuesday and one of her wishes was that I inform and thank this forum.

She had 4 years where she was able to stay at home and we as Family were able to survive financially on one full time income a large part because of this forum. You can never know how much that meant to us so thank you everyone.

I will be continuing to earn money from various ventures she started here so will be starting an account at some stage as this forum was invaluable and look forward to interacting with many of the people my wife spoke so highly about.

Thank You

Alfred - words can't express my sorrow over your loss. Strength and courage to you. She was a wonderful woman and, with time, the memories that now cause you pain will bring you peace and joy. I hope that day comes for you soon.

We welcome you and look forward to your participation and friendship.

Alfred, my condolences to you and your family and friends. I had a few conversations with Cathy and found her to be a very lovely person. She'll be missed here as well as in your lives.

If you haven't seen it yet, there was a thread started about her a few days ago. You'll see quite a few people had kind words to say about her.

Edit: Oops, I see Ray beat me to it in posting the link.

    No Way!

Cathy was one of my favorite posters. I'm sorry Alfred. This is tragic news. Truly.

God rest her soul, and peace to your family. If there is anything we can do to help let us know.

This just seems so tragic. What a good person. Im so sorry for your loss, and ours.

      Alfred,

Thank you so much for letting us know. I know how truly painful it must be. Cathy was an absolute angel!

I know from experience that no words spoken can ease the pain you are feeling right now, but if only warm thoughts and gentle words could be sown together, I would gather all that I could find and create a quilt of comfort that would keep you from the sorrow's cold.

Hello Alfred. I didn't know your wife very well, but you and your family will always be in my prayers. I know what it's like to lose a loved one to cancer. Cancer is a terrible disease. She looks very young in her picture.

I lost both of my parents from cancer. They died within 19 months of each other. It was the saddest 2 years of my life. They were young too. 65 and 61. And it's still very hard. Always know this, stay busy and stay very close to family and friends.
