Recorded last fall, 13 finds Osbourne, guitarist Tony Iommi, bassist Geezer Butler and guest drummer Brad Wilk (of Rage Against the Machine) resurrecting the ultra-heavy sound of early Sabbath records; tracks like "End of the Beginning" and "Age of Reason" stretch out to as long as eight minutes. "I don't know what's going on in the music world," Osbourne recently told Rolling Stone. "My wife mentions bands to me and I don't know what the **** she's talking about. We just do what we always did."

Bit miffed that the album isn't being released earlier, or in fact isn't out now.

They're touring Australia and New Zealand in April/May (I've got a ticket to see them at the Perth Arena, May 4). No doubt some of the new tracks will be played and it'd be nice to be familiar with them before hearing them live.

Whilst living in Sydney, I saw Ozzy in concert and also saw Iommi and Butler with Heaven And Hell (RIP RJD), but haven't seen them play together except on video/dvd. Also a bit sad that Bill Ward won't be with them as he is just as responsible for the classic Sabbath sound as the other three, but there you go. Can't have everything.

All that aside, I look forward to this new release especially as it goes back to the "ultra-heavy" sound of their first 4 albums.

A band that spawned a thousand imitators while simultaneously being overlooked by the main stream critics, and definitely worthy of the "legendary" tag.

It is always cool to me when a band plays songs live that I havent heard before.

I agree with you, though , it is nice to know the songs beforehand.

Back in the 80s , saw Sabbath w/RJD on the heaven and hell tour and mob rules tour.( long before Sharon decided to take the name away)

I think Ward played on those tours, but hey, it was the 80s. Last I heard Bill was not physically able to tour, bloody shame.

I am completely stoked to see this show and buy this album

    Well boys...

Think this really is a leaked song? Wife's asleep so I can't turn it up loud, but it doesn't sound like Ozzy singing to me. Might if it were louder though, I don't know.

If you read the comments under that vid you'll see that it's actually by an artist by the name of "lethargicj". An even bigger giveaway is the message that pops up half way through the song saying it's by lethargicj.

It had me fooled until that message popped up, then I read the comments.

Pity, because it's actually not a bad song in its own right, but thanks to the artist trying to pass it off as a leaked Sabbath song, his career is unlikely to ever get off the ground.

        Ah...well I like I saidk, I didn't think it sounded like Ozzy.

I didn't play the whole video because my wife was sleeping and I didn't feel like putting on the headphones.

The first video though, gives you a little taste.

Kinda sucks they couldn't reconcile differences with Bill Ward on this project. Heck, I was listening to "War Pigs" while I was still in my mama's womb... she loved Sabbath, and so do I to this very day. *Being my Dad was a Vet, that song remains on my top 5 list!

I saw Ozzy's "Ultimate Sin" concert back in the 80's and Metallica was on the venue to open for him. At the time, everyone was like "who the hell is Metallica?"...kinda funny thinking back on it I was like 14 years old. Ozzy cancelled the original date due to throat issues, and by the time the rescheduled date came to be, Metallica was headlining their own tour due to fan response, and Queensryche was opening for Ozzy. At the time, I had never heard of Metallica, and didn't really learn of them until 2 years later, while in-treatment "Sanitarium". lol

Sadly, I've never had the opportunity to see the original members of Sabbath play together live. Looking forward to hearing this album, Ozzy's last solo stuff like 'Let It Die', proves he still has it man... can't wait to see what the final cut sounds like on this Sabbath album. Hopefully, it has the feel of old, like "Into the Void" - "Snowblind" - "N.I.B." -"The Wizard" ...man, that 'feel' of old Sabbath still kicks ass man!

The first single from the album has now been released.

    God Is Dead?

(Before anyone starts criticising the title, Ozzy quite clearly states in the lyrics "I don't believe God is dead".

And yeah, it does recreate the classic Sabbath sound.

      whateverpedia,

Definitely appreciate you pointing out that lyric, it was one of the first things I noticed hearing it on the radio the other day... Not unlike his song "You're No Different" which "flies the middle fingers" at the religious cults attempting to distort 'spirituality" and to this day, I've still yet to listen to Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Ozzy... or any of my favorite bands music backwards... I leave it to the "SICK" religious fanatics to 'underscore' their own intelligence...or lack thereof, lol.

Great Share, hadn't seen the video until just now... definitely has that Sabbath feel, I like it!

Thanks for posting,Alfred E. Meant to post it myself,( insert lame excuse here)

I watched it bout a week ago, at first listen, it was "meh...", The song definitely grows on ya.

Leave it to Ozzy to stir in some controversy.

    Classic Iommi/Butler buzzsaw groove.
