Hey all - just wanted to find out who else is a musician? I put myself thru college back in the days playing jazz sax... in the 80s.

At 49, I like playing music more than ever, playing alto jazz and top-40/classic rock on guitar, plus keyboards.. anyone else?

k

    Yeah,Man.

Retired semi pro Lead screamer for a hard rock cover band.
We ruled the Cocoa Beach music scene in the 80s.
I havent done a live gig since 2002, just infrequently jammed with my buddies here and there.
My old band has been getting together couple times a month, and lnvite me.
The day job sucks the life out ofme, they always do it on wednesdays for crying out loud.

I am 49 too, Man. And getting the itch again, bad!

I have a guitar and sometimes make sounds with it that are reminscent of music if you don't listen too closely. It would be a gigantic stretch to call myself a musician though.

The current line up of things I hit are.
5 piece drum kit with double bass pedals, 2 ride cymbals (1 a sizzle), 3 crash cymbals, and 4 effect cymbals.
      Bodhran
      Cuban Congas.

I like the Congas myself Ken.
The ones I have I bought used in the mid 70's down in Tampa.
I've recently refinished them and replaced some of the hardware.
I need new skins for them, but I found someone online who carries them, so pretty soon

Retired semi pro on acoustic guitar and vocals. Love the Roland Fantom keys and my Boss recording studio. Currently mastering electric on my favourite Telecaster.
Keep thinking about starting up again. But the young kids are so good that I wouldn't get any gigs.

I'll be 60 in 33 days and I just started playing again around last Aug.
Currently I play at a little bar on 'jam' night. Most everyone else there is 20 years younger then me. Age doesn't seem to be a problem.

congas always sounded great; fun to try new things... anyone else play? I find it's a great way to relax, listening to jazz on spotify.com and playing it on alto
