Hi.

Does anyone know what type of RAM this is as I want more of it.

I know it's DDR2, but that's all. It's out of a HP desktop.

Thanks.

  • It's an old RAM with just 533mhz frequency. I doubt you will get a new one with that frequency. Currently RAM's run at >1333mhz...

Are you planning to add more with this current one or completely add new ones..?
  • How could it be any clearer? 512MB DDR2 533Mhz. Faster should work fine. But it likely MUST be DDR2, and straying from 512MB or adding more memory isn't a good idea unless you KNOW otherwise(from motherboard or system specs and/or documentation). That is true EVEN if there are other memory sockets.

    • The pc has 4 slots. 2 have a stick of this, so there is 1g of ram atm total. Windows 7 64bit. I want to put another 2 sticks of 1g, so I'll have 3g total. I'd put more, but apparently 4 g is the max it can take. Processor is Intel Core2 6700 (tm) @2.66.

I just need to know what ram is compatible. Some ddr2 is 4200, some is 5300, 6400 etc. This is where I get lost.

Also some is cl4, cl5, cl6 - what is that?
