Who else is ready for the sun?

I don't know about you guys, but living here in Indiana during the Winter months can be REALLY draining. Anyone else live in this area that's pumped about the 80 degree weather that's supposed to be here tomorrow and Saturday? :-)

    Brad,

I'm originally from Des Plaines, IL (O'Hare airport burbs), so I know how you feel. I currently live in the foothills of North Carolina and we've had a good mixture of sun and rain these last few weeks. Today was the first of our 80+ F degree weather - with Saturday being 85F.

However, I like cooler weather over warmer weather overall. Easier to warm up than cool down, in my opinion. Autumn is my fave season.

Ha ha...we already got that weather here in Western Washington. And when the sun shines here in the Pacific Northwest, it truly looks like heaven.

The weather hasn't been too bad on the other side of the mountains here in Eastern Washington either.

    Brad,

We hit 75 here today, and 77 in Knoxville. Supposed to be 80+ in Knoxville the next 3-days, so we will get upper 70's to low 80's here. (About 45 miles north)

Can't wait! Sick & tired of the cold, and the $350 a month electric bills!

I'm with Barbara - I like the Autumn too. It's just starting to warm up here in the UK, which usually means that in approximately three weeks it will cool down again The rest of our 'summer' is then spent watching televised coverage of the flood water being pumped from homes in various parts of the country, with the odd break in the proceedings to watch the covers being thrown over the courts at Wimbledon to protect them from an oncoming downpour. We're ready for the sun here, but the ducks are ready for the summer

I only wish I was ready for "it."

It is coming and I am so deep in work load right now I am afraid I will miss it all.

I LOVE the heat, humidity, and this year on top of it all I'm on an Island!

      Ugh.

Have looked around for a proper sunshade for my laptop - but not convinced with what I find. Would love to sit on the beach and just do my thing - you know?

Unfortunately a lot of video means a lot of external hard drives to hold the data.

It all becomes a nightmare - and the fear of the sand in my laptop keyboard.

      Brad,
I feel your pain...I'm here on the edge of the planet - Ohio. Funny thing, I kind of like the challenge of the seasons. Making it through another winter gives me a sense of accomplishment. Let's see if we can beat another blizzard and have some fun no school snow days.

Ooops, let me properly reword that, making it through another winter gives me plenty of time to hole up and spend countless hours in front of this computer (maybe a few good hours of guitar jam sessions with a couple cold ones too!).

I've even developed special skills like driving fearlessly in a white out while pretending it's just another day. Now that's something my tropical friends can't boast of.

I think paradise is a place you find in your mind. It's where you sacrifice the least and but still have the most. You bloom where you are planted.

Again the old "when life hands you lemons, you make lemonade" adage is proven daily here. I saw it again this winter when my snow plow guy turned into a snowplow engineer when I asked him to plow it all into one big pile. It musta been 10' high by about 20' wide.

My son and his friends played on that pile for nearly two weeks. Sled riding down and winding down the drive, spacious snow forts complete with maid service, and hours of fun with a cup of hot chocolate within a call's safe reach.

Besides, beer gets warm so quickly when in the tropics!

Bloom where you are planted, let the wind blow the seed if it wants.

      Best to all.

Its that big yellow thing in the sky.

We've had an anomaly here in the UK this past week and seen plenty of it (which has been nice), but I'm taking the kids to Centre Parcs on Monday(In Sherwood forest country which is about an hours drive away from where I live) and the forcast is cloudy with showers etc. (typical)

That is typical....especially after the warm spell we had.

Center Parcs is fab though and you will have a lovely time. There is so much to do and the weather won't spoil a thing. Just take a big fat wallet though...it is soooooo expensive.

          Have a lovely time

Have a great time Kim. I went to the Elveden Forest one a few weeks ago.

In some ways Center Parcs is better when the weather is lousy. Sure, you don't get to do so much of the outdoors stuff, but you do get to feel you've had your money's worth in the 'subtropical swimming paradise'.

There is a warm outdoor pool that is really fun in bad weather. Your body is lovely and warm while you head is in the rain and cold. Its a weird feeling. A few years ago I was there in the winter and having your head snowed on while you body is in lovely warn water just feels really nice!

Treat yourself to a spa session if you can get away from the kids for a few hours. It is delightful.

I enjoyed that. Here in Calgary I was getting worried that the sun was going dim just a few billion years early but then we actually saw it for a few days before getting snow and cloud cover again.
