    @Khemo - CNN now reporting that they have found 2 more.

    Al-Queerda is the current suspect from what they are saying.

    This is ridiculous. Someone please tell me, at what point do the rules of engagement go out the window & we can just blow these freaks off the face of the earth????

      That's always the "suspect" - but not always the answer. Have to see on that one. Before blowing up people in retaliation - wouldn't it be best to know where/who the attacks came from beyond assumption? That's the frustration, too - there are no rules of engagement for this kind of attack unless you count "put it where no one will see it.

      Anyone else notice when the one bomb went off guy in a yellow "official" vest immediately ran over to the barrier and started snapping pictures? He may have been an office photographer/press for the race - but if he wasn't, that was a strange reaction.

      That's the problem. The rules went out the window, a long, long time ago and people are dying.

        No one has claimed responsibility, as of yet. There were at least 4 bombs, by the looks so far. 2 went off, bomb squad set off another and then disabled the 4th. 2 dead with 23 injured at last count.

    The news outlets are randomly saying a lot of "suspects" right now. They don't know anything so I wouldn't listen too much to them until they get their facts straight.

          Two things I find interesting in the reaction to this attack. The first is the immediate publication of a photo of the Pres on the phone - and a press release to the media telling how many people he has talked and that he's directing the response and totally involved and....couldn't help but think "shades of Benghazi". That's the cynic in me, I guess.

          But then there's the hilarious reporter at the press conference with the Mass. Gov. who starts his question with "hows come youze guys din't..." and there's a moment of comic relief.

          I'll watch a movie or The Voice tonight and check back on the news when there's verified info about this in a day or two.

      This is the point in an incident where I don't trust the info much. At the very time something happens - you get the truth of what was seen.

      Later you start getting answers. But at this point reporters are filling air time and conjecturing is the name of the game. It's the period of "may have" and "what if" with very little real data.

    I believe if it were a prevalent terrorist organization like Al Queda, the bomb would have been much more damaging.
    This, to me, seems more like small-time crazies.
    But, it is scary as hell to think it could have been several pounds of c-4 or, God forbid, a dirty bomb.

        This is interesting.
        Don't know if it is anything - one of the big complaints for years has been about lack of support or sympathy for victims here by "normal people" who are in Muslim countries.

        But maybe this is why - there is nothing openly suspect about the message posted...but immediately others are assuming the worst. Damned if you do - and damned if you don't. Can't have it both ways.

        There are several media reports of "a person" being guarded - but the gov said in his announcement that extra police are now at all hospitals and public buildings - he says there is no person of interest.

        I've heard nothing about "Saudi" but there was mention of someone badly burned. If you were non-US, in the vicinity and had burns...I can see where you might be considered worth looking at.

        Not sure that's important and I had to think through it. Where a terrorist is from isn't as important as the company he keeps. If a mass murderer is from New York - you don't condemn New York for it.
        You don't condemn the town McVeigh came from because most people there are not terrorists. I think that's the case with Saudi - a country where the standard of living is reasonable may be easier to recruit young people from than a country where every moment is spent trying to eat and survive.

        And it is conjecture - because we may be repeating or making up facts that may be wrong. The police will share what they choose to share - and that's all we actually know about this incident right now.

    This is very tragic news to read and every news station is into it. 2 people are killed and many people are injured around the area. Let's hope that the investigators and police will find the bombers who did this. I am also praying for victims for faster recovery though I know that some of them will be traumatized about what happened and will take months to get better.

      I saw a couple images which really struck me: one was the 85, or so, year old lady who was doing the marathon in a wheelchair, being pushed after the explosion and bleeding. The second is of a runner who was being pushed in a wheelchair because his two legs were blown off. That's a very graphic photo with bones and veins sticking out all over. Very sad day.

          Sad day in Boston, I was there on boylston st when this went off, the impact nearly brought me down, and we were across at the candy store, people just started running everywhere, then right after 9 seconds later the second explosion happened. It's a sad day for all of us. #prayforboston

    Yeah, this is HORRIBLE! Over 130 INJURED! I believe over 10 AMPUTATIONS! 2 deaths. And this was DESIGNED to maim! They were low lying IEDs with built in shrapnel. As for giving up rights? In an argument about such things, I often use the idea of BOMBS to illustrate my point. I HOPE it won't become prophetic, but it appears to be WELL on it's way.

    A FEDERAL law against this was passed in 1934! It really hasn't helped.

      I actually sugar-coated my posts as best I could to avoid getting banned.

      That was as nicely as I could put it.

      However.. if these people who want to run their mouth had seen the footage that myself & Tim had (that he posted about earlier).. they might change their tune.

      ESPECIALLY if it took place in their own country.

      I'm literally just shaking as I type this. I'm PISSED. I'm hurt. I'm in disbelief.
