I dont know about you, but im beginning to feel like a 2nd opinion is a must nowadays.

Its almost like for every health issue you have, it will cost you double.. why?
Cos you have to see 2 different doctors. Just to be sure its the right diagnosis.
Thats if 2 of the diagnosis is the same. If its different you have to get a 3rd???
Or 4th until u get the most common answer??

I mean how prestigious it is to be a doctor, to have studied med school.

But here are my recent experiences.

1. Back in 2009, i had an MRI and Xray scans and the doctor said my ACL was torn so i went tru an operation. Woke up, he told me you ACL is in pristine condition, it was just some cartilage messed up, and he "cleaned up" for me.

2. Back in 2003, i saw the doc regarding red bumps on my arm. He told me that it was nothing and it could be that after bath, i used rough towel and rubbed my arm too hard thus spoiling the hair follicles.
I researched online and found that this condtion is a common skin condition that is not serious. But it is KP. Keratosis pilaris - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

3. Went to the doc just last year becos of some fungus on my feet commonly found in communal areas like swimming complex bathroom.
My brother had it before and i had frens had it before. It can be spread.
I asked the doc if it was possible to spread to my family since we bathe in the same toilet, he said no. [i knew he didnt know his stuff]

Then he went on to tell me how to treat it, like change shoe, sun your socks etc etc.. Then he printed out some instructions for me.

Went home, read it, and guess what, it was from the internet, while i was talking to him, he was googling it! Thats why when i was talking to him, he was very distracted like he wasnt listening properly, thus i think when i asked him whether it was contagious he said no accidentally.

And he printed the whole page from online, with all the copy rights stuff and the url.
And it wasnt the clinics url. It was from another country.!

So i told my father, i could be a doctor too.
Just have an office, have a computer with internet, buy a lab coat, stock up on some meds, have a recep staff and thats it!

Fungus - use mouthwash. It's really that simple - and cheap.

I've needed doctors to diagnose things sometimes - but it will be a cold day in hell before I let them give me any drug but penicillin and that's only if the heat is really on - like when I had a tooth absess. Otherwise - I get their diagnosis, then cruise through Pub Med until I find the right herbal to take care of it. LOL. I had to do research to get my degree, too. So I can treat myself with fewer problems that using something that the only info the doctor has on it was from the Pharm marketing rep. Screw that crap. Holy cow.

Stay away from doctors unless you've got a severed artery or you can't breath.

Disclaimer: This is not to be taken as medical advice.

Obviously there are countries that have worse doctors than others. Here in Australia I have some terrific doctors. I have a plethora of medical conditions and see a lot of different specialists as well as my GP and all are good at their job. I know enough to tell a good doctor from a bad one (fortunately).

It's truth - a LOT of the drugs doctors prescribe, they've never read anything but the marketing info about. If you need to know more about the drug - ask the pharmacist.

I had a relative that had toenail fungus -- doctors wanted to give her a whole MONTH of anitbiotics for it. There's something really wrong with that. Mouthwash is a fungicide. So is organic cider vinegar. Yet they aren't allowed to tell us that? Um..................

I had a lot of extremely bad health issues as a kid. They are mostly gone or under extreme control now...........because my theory on health care is...if the doctor's not curing it -- then it's time to go elsewhere. That's what I did. That's what I suggest EVERYONE do. Don't fall for the "controlled for life" crap. That's money, not science.

@Sal, I am using other therapies as well as doctors. I believe in trying whatever it takes. Unfortunately I am like a yoyo. If I get one thing under control, something else flares up. I also have chronic issues that I know can't be cured. But I am getting the best possible maintenance for them.
