Life is very much like a game.
A game i used to play - The Sims. [back in my school days, the 1st version]
( now is like The Sims 4? 5? )

Life is like a game,
It is filled with decisions.
What career line to be in.
What skill you want to hone.
Which relationships to build.
What to buy.
Etc.

But life is a game that has no Pause Button
has no Save & Load Options
has no Cheat codes.

I remember playing the game and i was a perfectionist.
Or idealistically.
I pre plan [literally i write the story of the character i want to create] before creating the character and his family and then playing it out.
So i would save along the way many times.
If something happened outside my control i will just load the last saved game.
Cos there are some things in the game mechanics that are random and u cant control.

After a while it became a chore, the game became like a work to me.
I wasnt playing for the fun or entertainment value.
I was playing it as life but too seriously forcing every direction.

I eventually gave up and started playing the game more realistically without saving so frequently and loading when something that i didnt expect happens.
But i still save at the end of the day so i could continue the next day.

So you see, you cannot redo things in life.
Yes you can plan, but you cannot force things to happen that is not within your control.

Having said that, naturally people will tense when your safety net isnt there.
But in life, if you plan and force things outside of your control, you will find that you are not enjoying life!

So dont take life too seriously, you live once! So make it count!

Cheers guys
  • I remember looking at life the same way when i was young (when i was young?),
my moto was "life's a game, play it however you wish"

In a way, my definition has grown more mature, because now, more than ever, it really does seem like the universe can be bent towards your will.

Man was meant to bend the universe afterall, should it be such a surprise?

I've come to the place where I realize life is what happens when I'm making other plans.

Life is like a box of chocolates.

You DO know what you're going to get because there's a slip inside that tells you clearly what to expect.

Your slip is your plan of action.

Yea, but sometimes the box doesnt state its content accurately.
Or you may have an unknown allergy.
Or you may know your allergy but the content/ingredients are not accurate and it acts up once you have them in your mouth.

You never know. You can never plan your life 100%.

I think most people worry too much.
They worry about failing, they worry about not having enough money, they worry about politics, they worry about their jobs, (which most of them hate), and on and on.
The next time you find yourself fretting over something, take a deep breath and ask yourself, "What's the worst that can happen?"
Some of the best times of my life occurred when I was broke.
Working construction, layed off every winter.
Had rent money (for $110 P/M apartment that I was sharing with a buddy), food money, and beer money.
All of our construction friends, and otherwise un-employed people were always dropping in. Music, and laughter were the order of the day.

Try not to stress yourself out.

In 100 years, you won't have much to worry about.
