Frankly, I think the WOMAN was dumb for not knowing this, etc....

Some "researchers" painted some corn blue, and some red. They had TWO groups of TWO cultures of monkeys, so 4 in total. BOTH cultures got corn of both colors, but in one the blue corn was made to taste bad, and in the other the red was. They found that in all cases the monkeys decided that they hated the bad corn, and switched to the other corn. Once they switched, they fully ignored the other corn.
The "researchers" changed the corn so both tasted the same, and the monkeys kept with their habit.

The monkeys CHANGED preference when they saw new locals eating the other corn.

They seemed SHOCKED by that! GIVE ME A BREAK!

Anyway, one woman couldn't help but chime in. She said that ALL changed EXCEPT for one dominant male. She said he was probably so full of testosterone that he was just too stupid to see that the others(His SUBORDINATES, as far as he was concerned) ate the other. Never mind that he may not even notice the difference, or that the leaders generally LEAD and don't follow.

...or that maybe he was the dumbest monkey in the group...with or without testosterone.

Funny how far people will go to try to prove a point - whether it makes sense or not.

Certainly possible. But such leaders tend to NOT follow those below them. WHO KNOWS though? I have hated things others say they like, etc.... They don't know how I feel, etc.... I can literally take or leave beer. Sometimes, in groups, I may have it, maybe once every three years or so, but I never bought any. Do I hate it? NO! Do I like it? It is ok. But I just feel this way about it. I would hate someone trying to judge me for that.

Funny too, how some people make monkeys of themselves when they try.

Now, now. Don't be insulting monkeys like that.

Maybe that monkey is color blind?

I wish I could TRULY agree, but they said they had blue and pink coloring for food to announce the birth of male and female babies.

If the one monkey was such a "leader" he'll eat the corn he damned well wants to eat and won't care about what others are eating -- they will switch to his color if they want to emulate him or seek approval.

Anyone think maybe the monkey just ate the one corn because it was his favorite color? Or he decided not to fix what wasn't broken?

As far as someone screaming sexism over this crap? Knowing what psychotropic drug she's on might not be a good advertisement for that one, eh?

All suppositions would be out the window, if they just combined the red and blue and made all of the corn purple. :p

I honestly remember when this song was the rage in the late 1950s. and when you listen to it , trust me when I tell you it will be spinning around inside your head.

I doubt any of the monkeys were blond. They never mentioned it, and those monkeys tend to have darker hair.

              Steve
I thought all the Monkeys were blondes and they were all male Monkeys. When they sang.

              But what do I know.

Funny how he's automatically "stupid" because he doesn't follow the crowd.

Let's see, the monkey is offered two foods, he likes one and dislikes the other.

He continues to eat the one he likes even when the other monkeys "switch back".

Ok so he must just be a "stupid monkey".

    But lets think about this.

You know you like apple pie but not blueberry pie.

Your friends like to eat blueberry pie and say "Hey, want to try some of our blueberry pie?"

You say "No thanks, I don't like blueberry pie".

Do you get called stupid because you don't like the same pie that they do? No (well I hope not anyway).

The same goes for the monkey.

He knows what he likes and sticks to it.
