Flowers For Algernon

I read "Flowers for Algernon" decades ago, but it has had a long-lasting impact on me. Why and what kind of impact exactly, I don't really know, but that story often shows up in my thoughts.

  • Yeah, it is a shame. Charlie ends up being the one to find he doesn't have much time. You have to feel for both of them.

    • I loved that book! What really made me mad though was when everyone would say oh, they did a "Charlie" when someone made a mistake or did a bone headed thing!

      Why do you suppose people always make fun of people who are different and/or a little slower than others? Lack of self esteem so they belittle others to feel big or something?

      I liked Charlie!

  • Same here. FOA was an amazing book.
  • I saw the stage play and that was great too. I prefer live theatre as I have done a lot of it myself in the past.
