For those who do not know me, I am a student right now and the law tells that "A Student Should Study ". No grudges with that... I do study a bit, only a bit and manage everything before final examinations and all. It has just been the last 3 months or so, I have almost been addicted to so called "Online Earnings"

At present, I cannot think of leaving this and in the due course I have made my earnings in total cross half a thousand mark but that has been done by almost a huge effort and staying online for hours and getting my eyes turn red. I am not complaining of anything, though there are lots to complaint, but I just want your honest opinion...Please

The fact is that I need to study hard for an examination which is coming in November this year for further studies. Recession is here, so I am not expected to be left only with a bachelors degree... a masters degree should be somewhere beside you for a safer side. What I want to ask you all is plain and simple: "Should I leave all this stuff?" I want to concentrate on studies and the combination of both the things do not work at all for me.

I may be losing some couple of dollars everyday(thats my average) but I don't want to lose my offline bigger and much better career in making. I am desperately trying hard and harder to decide but cannot. May be you can help me.... Should I quit? If yes, how do I quit being online here in DP, working and trying hard to find a job, trying new ways, discovering new things online..... And one thing is there... If I do not fare well or moreover extremely well in my exams, I am gonna get a lot of taunts and nasty remarks from the cruel society in which we live...They have some high expectations from me, specially my parents and myself. I have high expectations from ME !

I have also posted this thread in DP and wanted the opinions of the warriors as well. I know they are all kind and too generous to reply back without any grudges, honestly.

I guess I am messed up and if someone there had any time to read my post completely, I would be thankful to you for your advice. Advice from seniors would be great... Do say something and give an honest opinion... What do I do ?

I agree you should be able to manage both. I know the internet is addictive and so is IM because when I started I was online 15-17 hours a day.

You just need to manage your time and make a commitment to spend no less than, and no more than X hours on making money.

You might want to check out this free course by Mark Joyner on managing your time, target goals, etc. It is time consuming to do the exercises at first but you will take what you learn with you into whatever you do.

Thanks a lot for replying Tina and Patricia. As Tina said, I need to have recreation, yes I do need that, but if I go online once, I never tend to go offline, perhaps that needs to be controlled. By the way, you quoted, 'building something online', do you mean to say to build a website or a list or something like that?

And patricia, that was a good suggestion. As of now, I would be very strict in being online only for 2 hours the whole day as stopping this at once would not be worth it. Also thanks for the time management resource. I am glad, warriors do help the people without any one sided opinions. Thanks.

I am a student too and I do think that you should focus on your study first. If the income you generate online is quite enough to cover your basic living expenses, it's fine. A few bucks a day can be missed for the greater good

Study first and make money online which is good. Take a moment every now again to treat yourself and relax. Then study some more

Was having a talk about this very topic recently. Obviously having a good education is important, and if by having your degree will help you in the future then go for it. But what i would do if I had my time over again (I am middle aged) is to make as much money as you can when you are young and have the energy. If you will make more money online than offline then go for it. Who cares what other people think, it is what you think that is more important. Who will be laughing and taunting when you are rich, rich, rich and they are struggling in their 9-5.

Well suzanne, I think that is an encouraging reply. That surely boosted my 'online' confidence, yet still I somehow feel that yes, online money earning is both easy and has enough room to be expanded in my case(since at present, I haven't dealt with affiliate sites, I have made money only from writing quality articles), still I feel that if the same effort or even half of it is applied in studies at the moment, there is a brighter chance that I would be getting a bigger better job of more than 10 times the money I can potentially make online.

Thus, thanks for the responce guys, but I have decided to stop being online and eanring online slowly...and increase my studies slowly as well. Exams are coming in a month, and the main tougher exam is on Nov this year... So I have decided to pull my socks and start running, or else I will lose the race.

Everyone is different and it is important to recognize your strengths and weaknesses. You said that you tend to get very wrapped up in online marketing. Choose a period of time to NOT log on to Warrior Forum or do ANY IM and stick to it.

With your big exam in November, you probably aren't going to want to swear off online marketing completely until then, but do you have exams coming up sooner? If so, perhaps you should stop until they are done.

I understand the suggestion of others above who say you should limit your time, BUT... that can be like trying to only eat 3 cookies after dinner. It's better for some of us to decide NO COOKIES when we are at the store shopping. Stopping once you have 'the taste' can be very difficult.

I think the fact that you are even asking the question means you know what you have to do. You don't have to swear off internet marketing for life, BUT.... you have some big exams coming up and you need to focus on them. I think you already know the answer to your own question.

    Just my two cents.
