Jeez, I had to stop and think about that one. Couldn't remember what the M&Ms slogan was. It's too late for brain teasers.

I see a lot on American comedy movies & TV shows that they put tinfoil hats on so aliens and the government can't read their mind.

Is this something Americans actually did once in the time because they thought that aliens or the gov read their mind or something? Or is it in the movie-industry this "idea" was born?

WOW, I don't recall seeing ONE!

NOPE! Somehow SOME people supposedly thought someone could read there minds, by reading brain waves, etc..., and I guess suggested it. A metal hat WOULD be a viable defense to such things. The interesting thing is that tinfoil is not that easy to get, though some DO call aluminum foil tin foil, which WOULD work as well.

Yeah, the amount of power generated by the brain is rather low, it apparently doesn't generate, or even perceive much magnetic information and, even if it did, nobody could understand it.

The CLOSEST anyone has come, from what I can see, is to pick up the SLIGHT electrical charge, through DIRECT contacts, greatly amplify it, and used patterns to allow a person to control things through motions, etc...

Not sure anyone ever REALLY did this. "Tinfoil hat" is just something people say about someone who sees that a group of rich, powerful corporate psychotics might make a plan to get more power.

However - now that we have the advanced surveillance that we have over here, it might not be too long before people actually adopt tinfoil, and mirror sequin gear to keep drones off their tail.

No, the whole idea of wrapping your head in tinfoil came from a series of really messed up online stories you can read about here

In short, it's an internet meme.
