3D Imax Worth it?

I saw both movies The Hobbit and StarTrek into Darkness in Imax 3D.

I thought an extra $5 to see StarTrek in 3D was worth it. This movie was made for 3D.

But...I didn't think The Hobbit really made much difference in 3D.

I liked The Hobbit better in 2D.

    Promotheus was also made for 3d, I would have been as happy with a 2d version

      Went to see the Apollo Moon landing naratted by Tom Hanks at Imax 3D.

      Well worth seeing the moon, etc in 3D, or a simulation of it.

      But after seeing Toy Story 3 in 3D, l wanted to walk out of the theature and pitch the glasses.

      But l stayed til the end, never again, (well l had no choice for battlefield earth, only session left!

      Still annoying, but a bit more tolerable, being real life, most of the time!

    3D does not work for me as I am a life long wearer of glasses.
    Now if they could/would make clip on 3D I might be willing to try it.

    100% agree with you Kim. I wear glasses too and really never found a 3D pair that fits without being distracting; couple that with the silly images they throw in to say 'Hey, look here, we've got 3D over here' just doesn't cut it for me. But I'm doomed to watch them since my kids like them.

    The U2 in concert IMax 3D was actually good.

    Felt like I got front row seat, and could still hear afterwards.
