^^^This! I love this place! While I may not agree with everone's point of view, it sure helps me put MY point of view in perspective! Just think, you have some of the most creative minds "down" here, from all over the world, you can come here, have a beer and say whatever. You get GENUINE thoughts, whether you like them or not, on whichever, whatever problem, thought you have. Where else can you get that? Facebook?? ... I think not.

Yep, getting ahead online involves long hours online!

And that usually means that your family are scratching their heads, thinking why work so hard if nothing much is happening financially?

And over time that usually means that they think you are a lost cause and don't show any interest in your latest project.

Then you have your friends, most of which keep away from you for the same reasons!

No, being the 1% that makes it online, and living in a world where, giving up at the first sign of trouble or after 3 failures is the norm, isn't easy.

Being able to come here, and share something cool l have found online or open a discussion, is important to our well being and long term success!

One camp, that tries then gives up, and goes down the career path only, might look at us, and shake their heads thinking, they are throwing their life away!

We may look at them thinking, they are doing ok, but have to constantly put in effort to make money, or they will be doing less than ok, when they retire. Or we will be shaking our heads, thinking it is risky to put all our eggs in one basket!

Then after 5 years or even 7, the IM individual finally figures it out and makes far in excess of an average income.

Or travels the world to exotic locations, etc. And his entire business is in his Laptop, or he is making more money while doing virtually nothing!

The Career or tried 3 times gave it up, person, who thought this individual was nuts, just puts it down to luck!

Mores the pity!

So it's good to come to a place with like minded people!

As for me..

My family & friends just don't understand me.. They know I make good money online and I've been doing it for 3 years, but for some reason they just don't see it as a real way of living.

I like the attitude of Warriors for the most part and the off-topic forum specifically gives me a chance to see those that aren't just in this for the money, but rather the long haul.

Forgot to add in my earlier post in this thread the reasons why I visit the The Off Topic Forum.

It's because, at times, most of the threads and discussions in the Main Marketing Forum can be so bloody awful; either repetitive, overrun with newbie questions, boring, full of know-it-all bigots, not personally interesting, etc, that this forum is a welcome break for some light mental refreshment. In addition, the IQ level appears to be higher here :p leading to more stimulating conversations.

On other occasions - even if I'm participating in the main forum and there are some interesting threads - I still switch over to The Off Topic Forum just for a break from the serious discussions, and to see what pearls of wisdom have been posted here. I ALWAYS get a few laughs, some entertaining trivia, or some stimulating article or observation that sets the old grey matter into overdrive. I've yet to be disappointed.

Tongue-in-cheek observations, sarcasm, wit, dry humour, droll self-mockery, kindness, and a whole lot more can all be found in this forum, including what Terra said earlier.

Because someone in the sea of random posts invariably serves up an interesting idea, something I would not have found or thought of on my own.

A movie, or a technical thing, or a surprise...which I otherwise never would have run into.

And it's a relaxed atmosphere.
