Wow! She lived a long life all the way to 90 years of age. Those were the days back in the 70's. Great show, great times! RIP Jean Stapleton.

Her voice filled our living room so many nights as I was growing up. My dad loved that show!

      God Speed, Jean!

Jean Stapleton and Marion Ross where two of my favorite TV wives/mothers from that era.
A little trivia, her brother "The Brow" John Stapleton owed a bar a couple miles from me called The Albia Tavern. I Spent many a night there in my younger days even though it was an "old guy" local bar.

    Oh wow! RIP Edith Bunker

... the long-suffering wife of that red-neck bigot Archie!

She was quite a girl alright!

Glad that Jean Stapleton lived so long - (and didn't have to really live with Archie) LOL.

Loved the show she did, too. She was a great actress and I had no idea she was still around until I saw the headline. Rest in Peace.

    Arrrrrrrrrrchie!

I remember watching that show when I was a kid. Years later I was easily irritated by the sound of Sally Struthers voice begging for money equivalent to the price of a cup of coffee (meh).

In addition to that what irritated me was her begging for food to feed the children when she looked like one of her meals would of done the job.

Any body watch Family Guy? The entire opening credits is a tribute to "all in the Family",
right down to a parody of the theme song.

Here is my favorite part from a show that shows Jean's acting and Edith maybe at her best! Sometimes she acted bright, but most of the time not so. HERE, she gives the only honest account.

It also shows the way the characters related.

She will be missed. In there last interview with Carroll "Archie" she refused to say "archieeeeee" like we like her to as she said that was for the show. I loved this show and still watch series on Netflix on my roku!!! All the old shows are on there from those times...........
