I use to say whenever a Dr. left that they couldn't possibly replace him. So far I have been wrong every time

Great, hopefully the next one won't have ADD, and acts his age more?

      Time will tell.

Hartnell didn't "act his age," so why should any of the others?

Anyway, he's a Time Lord. To paraphrase Donna Summer... What's age got to do with it?

Well, it would be nice if he acted more like Tom Baker, (4th doctor, Sara Jane, etc).

Occasionally acts like a fool, and even psychotic sometimes, but not stupid virtually all the time!

And tends to know how to solve a tech issue, than running around like a nut, hoping to find something that works!

Almost 1000 years must make someone pretty self assured, or confident of their abilities.

Look forward to the next one, unless he is suffering more from ADD, and acts like more of a nut, time will tell!

I think being nearly a thousand years old is a good excuse to be a bit loopy. Besides, this version of the Doctor was born from a TARDIS that was heavily damaged, spinning wildly through space & time until it landed in Amelia Pond's garden. And he was still regenerating when he landed. I don't think he was ever quite right after that, lol.

But I'm a huge fan of the show, and the trick is to not take it too seriously. It's just a fun romp through the universe, and makes me forget this one for a few minutes.

I think that eccentricity is a part of the Doctor's character, regardless of who the actor is. There's nothing wrong with ADD when it comes to the Doctor. He would certainly not be somebody that would fit perfectly into any normal mold. And why should he?
