I'm looking for a free Instant Messaging program to use at work. All 10 stations running Windows and I'd like to use a reliable free one. I heard Pidgin is ok, any suggestions?

    Pidgin is a generic client it allows you to use the one client for multiple chat services. If your using one service use their native client and you'll probably get more features out of it and have a better user experience.

    One thing to note is that Microsoft's MSN Messenger is being replaced by Skype.

      Thanks storm.
      Maybe Trillian or Miranda is a better choice? I want something thats easy to set up we don't need a bunch of customizations. Just something simple and easy to learn.

        Again Trillian or Miranda are generic clients you always loose some features with these, however, the attraction is one client for multiple services instead of a client running for each.

        If your using one service you should be thinking about AIM, Google, Skype as examples and using their own software clients. If your company is use Google apps then I would go Google's. You also have the brilliant Google+ and hangouts.

        Also think about smartphone support
