A six-year-old brought this note home from a neighbor's house (I found the story on the Internet):

Yes it is, but it does also look much like a disclaimer.

Wouldn't it be easier to just get rid of the d@mn slide?

    Citation please?

    This isn't Reddit.

While I admit that these kind of posts are amusing, they kind of lose their punch when people repost these old things claiming that they are true.

I actually found it on Reddit!

And I posted it since it is kinda fun.

Sorry I had to ruin your day Doug.

My kids prefer the swings, anyway.

Hehe...that definitely didn't ruin my day. That was an impressive response.

That's what I get for trying to troll a Reddit reader.

No snacks provided? Time to find another water slide.

Does anyone else long for the days when all the kids gathered at the fun house until those parents got tired of them and they moved along to another house?

The kids were no angels but they did listen when an adult spoke. Scraped knees and elbows were no cause for a lawsuit.

When I was a kid we didn't go in the house. Of course, I lived in S. Cali so the weather was rarely a factor. No one served us snacks. We went home for our own lunch. Ice cubes wrapped in a paper towel were about all the hospitality that was offered.

Some people had pools but more often than not we were thrilled to run in the sprinklers.

Kids have a lot today but I think my generation had a lot more.

Snacks were included upon invite to my house. If someone just showed up, not - but an invitation to come over always included something to eat. My mom was the KEWL mom on the block. When we went to Pam's - that's where the pool was, so we didn't eat because we all thought we'd drown if we ate just before swimming.

We had about the same system as that note, though - you played by the rules at other people's places.........but we never felt the need to write notes. People just talked to each other......and nobody got their panties in a bunch over someone having stricter rules than others.
