In the lights of the NSA scandal, what's a reasonable amount of privacy for you?

We often complain of the government's intrusion into our private life, but a lot of us give info voluntarily to private enterprise and it remains fairly easy to find out info about most people.

I am fairly introverted and I like privacy a lot , I just think that there is a tradeoff with quality of life.

For example: because of public property appraisal in my city, you can just type the name of someone in the city website and get a list of each property that they own.

and of course if you're in offline business, it's not like you can go around as an alias like socialentry.

I am young, so I see a lot of people that plaster themselves and their actions all over the internet. Would those people really be affected/unhappy if they lived in a totalitarian state?

What do you think?
