What's the deal with TP?

I'm confused...when I buy toilet paper now I have to choose between "strong" and "soft".

What did I used to get? I never used to have to decide between strong and soft. Was the TP I bought a few years ago strong or soft?

Why can't I have both? Since TP is two ply, can't they make one ply soft and the other side strong?

Also, what's up with this "double roll" BS? Didn't they just shrink the rolls in half, them "double" the half-sized rolls to the size they've always been and call them "double" rolls?

Kurt... if what you stated wasn't bad or confusing enough, now they have a commercial imPLYing <--see what I did there? .. that if you don't use the new wet wipes, you are filthy! That's right, TP can no longer do the job.

As to your original query, you want messed up? Send your husband out to buy TP and he comes home with single ply.

Thanks for the laugh this morning!!!

It must be a conspiracy theory, addle the masses minds by providing more and more complex choices for everyday products. LOL .

In Au because they can't pass on the costs, (manufacturers) and we are still in the sky high utility crap, (at least AU's air is clean, although the US and China are polluting away) there are a couple of greenies l would like to put up against a wall, but l am getting off thread!

So, AU's toilet paper is soft 3 ply, scented or not scented, and it gets into patterns, etc, but that is about it.

In the meantime because of the above mentioned crap, the paper seems to be getting thinner and thinner, so you have to use more and more!! Grrrrrr.

So AU, dollar may not be getting watered down, but we are still suffering in a similar way.

If there are any services or products in AU, with costs that cannot go up, the products will get cheaper and cheaper in manufacture or mass of content, etc.

Another good example is Jeans in AU, years ago when l looked at Jeans in shopping centres, they understandably had a full range, now because of the utility crap, no one has anything decent left!

It is all this waist fits well, leg lengh is ridiculous! I visited 3 main stores, including Just Jean's, (Sells mainly Jeans) and they all had the same crap stock!

Yeah, save the planet and put up with crappy products, someone has definitely dropped the ball!

I won't drop names, as it could get too political, but l will just say "s***, happens", and things will improve eventually!

Where's Mr. Whipple when I need him? All of this talk about TP has me feeling wiped out in the end.

I've had potty trained cats stay at my hotel.

We use the one ply at my hotel because we have the first version of low flow toilets.
Two ply clogs them to the point of needing a plunger.

And, coincidentally, I just came across this the other day:
(They actually rate on dissolvability as well. Actually an important aspect in the case of my hotel and for those on well and septic systems. More to this subject than appears at first wipe.)

It's to be expected when you have a hotel across the street from Bubba's Angry Buffet.
