Too many people didn't fill out their registration cards when they bought their PC's. First guns, now this? We're living in a police state, I tell ya.

Sounds about right! They'll probably just leave it that way too. Now they got another reason for probable cause. "He was talking on what appeared to be a 'device'."

I swear politicians are plain nuts. You can't walk down the street without breaking a dozen laws. It is about time the people rose up and did something, like kick the bums out and start fresh.

What the hell is wrong with an internet cafe?

It has got to be unconstitutional.

In Florida, most "internet cafe's" are basically a physical location for an online casino. They have a bunch of PC's set up and people go in and gamble on foreign sites. Same thing you could do from home really, but it was a different spin on it and a way to "operate a casino" without a license or any official reviews for randomness, etc.

What the state was trying to do was shut them down. But, as is usually the case with government, when they try to legislate something they don't fully understand, their wording doesn't exactly match up. And as a result, they've effectively banned any device that connects to the Internet and could be used for a game of chance.

And to think there are actually people out there who want the government in charge of health care?

Either that or they did it on purpose for some particular reason as of yet unknown. That's one of the tools in their toolbox. Playing stupid. They always have an agenda.

Or coffee shops, or shipping places, or hotels, or libraries, or airports.... Should I keep going?

Up until maybe 7 years ago, the key connection for the internet was a T1 or T3. Even TODAY, the OC devices are NEEDED! Now WHY was it a ***T***1 or ****T****3? PSSSST I'll tell you a secret! It means TRUNK, as in TRUNK LINE! It was for the phone company. You could argue that LAND LINES were illegal.

The steroid bill of 2004 actually excludes BY NAME, female hormones. WHY? Because t was SO general, that it INCLUDED them!

YEAH! I'll avoid the "HCP" argument, though it is starting to affect people in a BIG way, about 5 problems are coming to light, and 2 major parts are being delayed or changed.

As for the casinos? Here is a thought! It would reduce casino interest/use by perhaps 70%! It is EASY! Wanna hear it?

HONOR THE INDIAN TREATIES!!!!!!!!! Simply tell them "HEY GUYS! The idea is that you have your own area where you can live your lives ******SEPARATE****** from ours! CASINOS, SHARK LOANS, and TOBACCO WERE NOT INCLUDED!"

And WHY do we subsidize people that then loan to people at a HIGH interest rate?

hmmm, maybe they should just build a large fence around Florida, and legislate for "No Red Meat" as well! LOL.

A good part of people living there are apparently criminals, so, or at least they are now!!!!

          Escape from Florida???

Might as well do that around the whole country. Paste this into a search and see what you get, "number of U.S. federal laws". The common answer is, nobody knows or there's to many to count.
It's gotten to the point where judges will at times let you use the excuse that you where ignorant of the law, of course that only happens in cases where the judge is also ignorant of the law you allegedly broke.

I'm not sure what it is, but I have dealt with folks from every state and reviewed legalities in relationship to business and politics and two states always stand out as far as being off-kilter or harboring more wackos who make me double-check what is going on...Those two states ....Florida and Utah.

This is ridiculous, some politicians are so disconnected from reality that they make foolish judgments, that don't even enforce a legitimate issue at hand. Why not just make a direct ban on online gambling instead (although, even that is silly imo). I guess people in FL will just have to start playing poker off the net now.

Personally I think the bigger problem is that the government is involved at all. As long as you aren't on food stamps, welfare, or some other federal assistance, what business is it of theirs if you take money you earn and gamble with it?

It's only a matter of time before they target Internet marketers. Heck, your odds of winning are probably better at an Internet cafe than they are at "winning" with most of the WSO's

Awesome! Now I can run an illegal computer cartel
      and makes loads of money.

It will be a branch of my gun and drug division. I will
have to work on the delivery network but shouldn't be
      too difficult to smuggle in.

I can also have a bar or restaurant as the front and
pirated WIFI rooms in the back.

      Too many possibilities.

It's pretty crazy to ban an entire business model just because certain establishments are pushing the boundaries of the law. There are legitimate uses for internet cafes. Enforcement should target specific places and leave it at that.

Why not go ahead and ban massage parlors too? We can all walk around with kinks in our necks because of a few too many happy endings.

Hmmm, good example of a crumbling society, (don't worry l am not knocking the US, AU gets this crap as well) and AU is a large convict colony surrounded by oceans; but at least we can still enjoy a steak or two!

I heard on the grapevine that they are doing a remake.

Hmmm, might have to change it to Florida?
