AN Example of STUPID ARROGANT GREED

On John Stossel today, they spoke of a woman that sued a company. I believe it was a flower company. They had ADA compliant paths, and restrooms, and a bell to allow wheelchair bound to be given a ramp to get into the store. SHE sued because he violated the ADA supposedly.

When asked to appear on stossel, she said she was justified because "Why should the handicapped be forced to compromise for things that others take for granted?".

OK..... Does a lawsuit like this:

1. Give her a waist of say 10" so the wheelchair can go whereever?
2. Give her LEGS so she can go over streams, go on a ladder, etc?
3. Allow her to move her torso to go to a bathroom as easily?
4. Add to her height to allow her to reach higher?
5. Give her proper control of her feet, etc... to operate a normal vehicle?

*****NO*****

FACE IT! NO amount of money will allow you to be 100% equal to others in those ways. If you feel you should be "made whole", SUE GOD!

I knew a person that, after getting his new office, spent a FORTUNE to widen the doors, widen the restrooms, provide bars by toilets, provide ramps, etc... WHY? To be ADA compliant!

OH NO! I just realized! My home is NOT ADA compliant. 8-(

    Some people, myself included, has limited reach and can't reach a door bell or push the button because of it's size.

    Roll around for a month and see if your opinion changes.

    FYI: ADA lawsuits don't allow people to get a financial gain for violations. Some states, like CA, have another law that allows people to "get paid" That law should be changed.

    Seasoned, I fully agree with you there are many problems with the ADA. Anyone who owns a business will tell you that. Garrie provided you a very rational rebuttal from his point of view. I predict you wont get many more responses like that. When many people see your thread they are going to immediately think you are only bashing the disabled. In short there are no Vulcans on this planet, just creatures of emotion here. Its nearly impossible to have a rational debate on hot button issues in America.
