11 Year Old Yemeni Girl on Forced Marriage - YouTube

  • Yes, unfortunately there are a few seriously F****up family's in that country!

Last thing l heard was two teenage girls singing in the rain and putting it on Youtube.

Naturally their family killed them off!

A country that treats it's women like second class citizens and forces them to wear sheets over themselves, because the men apparently have no self control, are capable of anything!

Unfortunately Australia does get some of these whacko' family's or individuals, but thankfully not that many.

I am always grateful that l live in AU when l hear stuff like this, and hope that she is ok!

    • Bro, they're not sheets. They're the traditional garments of the practitioners of ninjutsu.

    • Second class citizen? No. This is complete and abject slavery. Some people treat their livestock better than this. It should be globally illegal - and, yes, I realize that different cultures have different ways - but when half of the population is held as captives and slaves who can be tortured and killed at the whim of a man or parent -- then it's time to say NO F**KING more. This isn't culture -- it's open and obtuse slavery.

  • Shame, shame, shame.
  • I actually saw this video in one of the Facebook groups, the Girl was forced to marry but she denied and evaded from the parents place. She lives with her uncle now.

I really like her courage and self confidence to fight the forced orders which is even illegal.

  • In Eastern Europe, this is still a common problem among gypsies. They give birth to children at 12 years old and stuff like that.

Just the other day I was walking through a neighborhood in my hometown where a lot of gypsies live. I saw this 14 year old girl, carrying her child ...

As for the girl in the video above, well, what can I say? local culture and religion can really f'k up some people. It' sad, though.
  • A timely reminder of our privilege, and how there is much work to be done on this little speck we call Earth. Thanks for sharing.

  • I've been over there. Several times. What a waste of time and money. But most of all a waste of my brothers and sisters in arms blood. They are not worth sacrificing anything for.

You will NEVER be able to democratize them.

They are straight out of the stone age in their thinking.

You either have to kill them or leave them be.

    I prefer the former.

That's all I have to say.

  • i hate these type of families. there should be a strict rule to stop these guys.
  • A FORCED marriage is basically RAPE! So why even have the marriage in the first place? If YOU can freely rape whomever you please, then why can't someone ELSE rape the SAME person? So marriage is out, and the benefits of being with the person YOU want are worth NOTHING, so it begs the question as to WHY!?!?!?!? Such people have SERIOUS problems. IWSM....

In india they still have arranged marriages, but thoughtful parents would select, and allow the kids to grow fond of one another. They would generally be from the same caste, etc... Further, I heard a story, from the WOMAN in the story, of how a couple was pre-arranged. They had not seen one another for a time, and the father kind of interviewed the husband to be while te woman secretly watched. After he got the signal, the father asked the HTB if he wanted to see her, etc.... He THEN let the man in, and they apparently hit it off. I believe I heard the story about 4 years after the marriage.
