I use the laptop when surfing or doing casual stuff (like visiting WF) because I can flop on a big comfy chair in the living room. The laptop is also pretty critical when traveling. The laptop I have (2 year old Acer) has an awesome keyboard, so typing is no prob. The 15" screen is a little small for me.

I use the desktop when I am doing hardcore work. Big keyboard, mouse, big screen.

    Regards, Georgetta

Two laptops; a Macbook and a Windows vista laptop. I can take my laptop with me when I travel and attend meetings. I would never go back to a desktop.

I have a good, fast and sturdy Dell Pro laptop. It runs like a charm. Let's hope it will last.

I have no other choice due to lack of space in my place.

    I'm using a laptop cause that's what I own.

Since it's 4 year old battery gets like 10 minutes of battery life now, it stays at the desk.

I never thought I would enjoy my laptop, since I was so used to working on the desktop. I have to say, I won't go back. The pure ease of transport is worth it's weight in gold alone.

The problem with using my laptop is that when I'm typing, TOO frequently it jumps mid-word to another spot in the text that I'm working with... and since I touch type - it's VERY frustrating to look up and see the mess it just created. Makes for a lot of 'do-overs' and is totally not fun.

Consequently, most of the time when I use my laptop - it's connected to a keyboard, two mice and a monitor - so it's really like using a desktop only slower... due largely I assume to the slower processor speed of laptops. It's an Acer Aspire 7520-5185 model if that makes a difference.

I am not aware that I'm pressing on any part of the laptop with my palms or wrists and yet the typing is so erratic at times (especially in Gmail replies) - jumping into the previous paragraph or the one below it or even in the middle of a word - if anyone has any ideas why this happens I'm ALL ears. It drives me to using some rather unladylike language!

I prefer using my desktop entirely but I also do depend on the laptop for travel purposes so I can keep up with customer support and email while I'm gone from home.

Get a laptop where you can turn off the touch pad.

Some will have an on/off button so your mouse doesn't jump around so much.

It's like having a car that goes 300 miles an hour while mine can only go 100.

It's really fast, but most of the time you can never get close to the top speed.

I use both. I have a slightly nerdier setup with both my PC's, and run my laptop simultaneously... One of my PC's is also connected to my 55 inch TV which I use for gaming and movies. I usually use the laptop for MSN, while using the PC's at the same time for more taxing applications such as my computer games.

I have an Acer Aspire 3618AWLOi (yeah, it's a heap of s**t, with not enough RAM sigh and it's been rebuilt twice ) but, (pats/strokes computer and says "nice computer" and "keep working for me please" ) I use a Microsoft Natural Ergonomic Keyboard 4000 on my computer desk with a pull-out keyboard draw, and a Microsoft Mobile Memory Mouse 8000 (which I am soo in love with)

When I have Manifested the funds, I will get a kick-arse unit built with as much RAM (and all the associated bits) as can be possibly fitted in the tower-box . And a biiiiiig LCD monitor. *crosses fingers*
