I just wanted to let all of you absolutely wonderful friends of mine know that I'm leaving tomorrow for my long awaited 30th Anniversary trip. Yee Ha!

Hubby only made one request of me and that was to be completely internet free. He said he doesn't want to share me with anybody for a whole week, haha! So I can't bring my lap top and I have promised not to go online from my cell phone or kindle. The things we do for love, right? lol!

Anyway, I'll miss conversing with you all and already can't wait until I return to catch up.

Sal ~ I'm going to your website right now to see pictures of raw agates so I can do a little hounding for you. I hope I don't bring you home a box of worthless rocks, haha!

I'm working on year number 22.

    Congrats on your 30th!

Is it true that one big secret to a happy marriage is the wife is always right?

When the Queen is happy everyone is happy. (LOL!)

Actors Hugh Jackman and Courtney Vance said as much when talking about their marriages.

    Enjoy!

Haha! That is one of many, but I'm afraid that alone won't sustain a happy marriage.

I have a wood plaque on the fridge as a happy reminder to something closely related. It reads simply:

      Happy Wife
      Happy Life

I honestly don't want to be right all of the time because quite frankly, hubby is more knowledgeable in a few areas that I'm not, like car engines and electronics and computer chips and all of that razzmatazz. So if we went with all of what I wanted, we could certainly end up in some danger zones, lol! And I honestly do respect and seek out his opinions in hoping we can come to a happy compromise.

Happy Anniversary, Terra. Enjoy the time away. We'll still be here when you get back . . . hopefully.

Of course we may have discussed all the important issues by then, so we'll be reduced to trivial matters, but oh well.

Happy 30th Terra, and have an awesome trip! I'm sure the Internet will still be here when you get back, but it will look bigger and a little different than you remember. :p

I'm planning something big for my wife when we hit the same milestone in three years. Hopefully my IM'ing will help pay for the whole thing in cold hard cash.

See ya on the flip side!

Around my house, the saying is: Happy husband!

    1. Wife works all day, feeds horses, takes care of the chores, works horses, cleans stalls, works some more.
    2. Comes in and kisses husband, tells him he's amazing. Asks him what he wants for dinner. Asks how his favorite sporting event is going! (My favorite is NFL!)
    3. Gets what he wants for dinner ready. (pray that I already have it, we live 100 miles from town, and it's snowy and all uphill.) + (He wont let me drive, I'm a woman you know!)
    4. Works some more while dinner is cooking.
    5. Serves him his dinner. While he is eating I will feed the dogs and get the horses in, feed them too.
    6. When he is finished with his dinner, I set up the message table and give him his back rub. I start his bath. While he is soaking and having his night cap, I let the dogs out and come in and do the dinner dishes.
    7. After drying him off I get his bed ready, make sure his pillows are fluffed.
    8. Stand at attention until he falls asleep, or wants his husbandly rights...)
    9. Once he's asleep, I will heat up any scraps he may have left. If there are none, I just have some bread with a side of celery.
    10. Work while I'm eating dinner. Wash my dish and dry it. Work for a few more hours.
    11. When all of my work is done... I get my pillow out of the cupboard and my bedroll, and curl up next to his side of the bed.
    12. Get up before him and get his breakfast ready, start my day all over again!

Oooh, "Yee Ha!" to you also ... otherwise known as "Bon Voyage", in this case ... not to mention many congratulations to both of you, and I hope you have a wonderful trip.

Meanwhile, you know how, in browsing this forum, you get so used to seeing certain words, and you recognise them sometimes when they're not even there? I read your title, at first, as "Pardon My Adsense" (and now you - nearly - mention it, I do think that people who have sites covered in Adsense should start off their sites by saying exactly that! ).

Go to google images and google "lake superior agates" and you will get the drift real fast of what they are. If you find one then, you should recognize it immediately.

I don't think there are a lot of pics of actual lake superior agates on my site -- but there is a free ebook back in my newsletters somewhere that a member gave to me to share once - all about lake superior agates with some good pics. I can't for the life of me remember which issue and won't have time to get it to you as I am leaving in about 5 minutes myself.

Anyway - google images will do the trick for ya. And good luck! -- Try for some petosky stones, too. You wouldn't believe how coveted those have become.

    Happy Anniversary.

Ha! I went from one loony bin to another! I seriously had a blast and went wild and crazy. I mean, I did things I explicitly was told (by warning signs) not to do with a warning that if I did those things, I could face an arrest and/or a fine.

Hubby even (unknown to me at the time) took tons of photos while I was doing it! Haha! He said nobody would believe him when he told of how I...well, I don't want to go into too much detail on a public forum, but how I was "misbehavin'."

Funny how after 30 years, we had a complete role reversal in that arena.

Hahaha! No, it was much more serious than tags and mattresses, more like endangering my life kind of stuff. Well, that's what the signs said anyway.

I found a few interesting things, but not many. I can't believe I didn't even see one petosky stone...not one! But the day we had planned for going off the beaten path and exploring was the only day it was freakin' cold! I'm talking a high of only 53 degrees. We headed out anyway and once we found a good spot and started looking it busted out raining. A freezing cold rain, not the kind I like to run and play in. Bill/hubby took off running to get back to the car, but I took my little bucket and scooped up some rocks, then hightailed it back.

Although I got some very interesting looking rocks, I don't think any are agates. I'll have to lay them out and take a picture of them and email it to you. Then you can verify that they are probably just worthless, haha!

Hubby won't be posting the pics because he made the horrible mistake of taking them with my camera! Heehee!

Most of them are of me being places I shouldn't have been by climbing over and under and up on things and maybe I'll post one if I can make sure there barrier I ignored isn't in view.

Okay, sorry this took me so long but since we returned, my brother came to visit from Missouri and is safely on his way back home now and my in-laws from Florida arrived. My father-in-law has been hospitalized and is now temporarily out until his swelling goes down enough for surgery. It's a long story, please don't ask...

But back to my incriminating photos. I'm only posting the least incriminating of them even though hubby has a series of shots that actually make a crude video if you scroll through them fast enough, lol!

The first one I'm really going out on a limb, duh! Haha!
I meant on a limb over the head waters before Tahquamenon Falls. And yes, I went way out there, but I'm not posting those shots for obvious reasons.

Okay, even though I've gone over the barrier to a restricted area, I haven't climbed the rock...yet. Hubby says it doesn't matter because what I'm about to do is written all over my face. Hmmm...

      So there you have 'em.

Raising a child is akin to knowing you're getting fired in 18 years and having to train your replacement without actively sabotaging them.

Chancey, there, Terra. I remember how cold that water is. I'm disappointed you didn't try to go over the falls in a barrel though. Maybe had it been warmer outside?

      Hahaha!

Naw, it's just that I don't like root beer.
