My Son Just Helped Buskers Make Money, lol

I was carrying my son, 3, home from a restaurant and he was falling asleep in my arms. Then, as we passed by a couple of women playing instruments and singing, he opened his eyes wide and squirmed out of my arms. He ran towards the buskers and I thought, oh no, what's he going to do -- try to touch the instruments? He stood there in awe watching the performers -- one playing guitar, the other a bongo drum. Then he started to audibly hum along! Oh oh, I thought. But, he actually sounded pretty good.

By then a little crowd had gathered and were watching the performance as if he were part of the show. He started doing a tap-dance routine of sorts, involving going up and down stairs and got the crowd laughing and clapping along. Soon people were dropping money into the guitar case left right and center. The guitarist handed my son a guitar pick and told him, "This is a guitar pick. I want you to have it. You're going to need a guitar for it."

  • You really need to start carrying a camera or phone with video capabilities around with you. If for no other reason than for posterity...but you might also have let a viral video slip through your fingers.

  • I agree with Dennis...you could make some money by recording it!
