It seems like every time To go to the gas station, the gas prices are going up. Gas Prices Are To High, they need to come down. It's getting worse by the day, something has to get done quick.

Agreed. I think I paid $1.34/L or something like that. I don't even bother looking anymore. It just makes me mad.

    Hi there,

    This is interesting.

I paid $3.53 per gallon in America a month ago. America is one of the world's biggest exporters of oil.

Two weeks prior I paid rougly $0.25 a gallon when I was in in Kuwait and a week later in Saudi Arabia I paid about $0.50 a gallon.

    Why such a disparate price?

    All the best,

    Sasha,

P.S. My company provides me a driver in mainland Europe ( I know, go figure?) so I'll pay better attention to prices there next time I'm watching my man fill up.

Gasoline is a finite resource. Imagine how much it will cost once there isn't any left!

In the UK, average price is $2.30!

Aren't you glad you don't live in the UK

I assume you mean £2.30? (I only recently found out my keyboard could make that symbol, lol). That wouldn't be too much more than it is in my area, around $4.00 per gallon.

Well according to some theories (which so far I've found no real evidence against) oil is actually infinite, as in, the Earth is producing it as fast as we're using it. We'll never manage to deplete it, there are new sources found every time an old source is done for.

The price is going up because we'll still pay even when it will be $5/liter, and even beyond that. It's like cigarettes, I forgot what they call these goods in economy, but they have a name for 'em.

      Cheers!

PS: my first post in the off-topic forum ha ha.

Here regular gas/petrol costs $2.50 per liter. Think that's something around $8-$9 per gallon. I don't get it. We have some of the highest gas prices in the world, althrough we're pumping up massive amounts of oil from the North Sea. Sweden who doesn't have any oil for example, have lower gas prices than us...

**EDIT** I calculated a bit wrong. The price per liter for regular gas isn't $2, but about $2.50.

Those griping about the US having cheaper gas than them --- Does YOUR country subsidize the Gas corporations? We do - by the $ hundreds of millions. They aren't taking your prices at the pump - they are taking it directly out of our wallets whether you drive or not.

I am so done with crony capitalism. 1% and we can't get them off us. That's pretty pathetic when we stand (or cower) at 7 billion.

Wow, the prices I'm reading here are crazy. I believe in my town we are a little over $4 a gallon. Of course if I were to travel to these countries to get cheaper gas, the currency exchange rates might make you guys on point with me, but then again I'm not so sure.
