Google Saved Mothers Day for Me!

There I was on a perfectly fine Sunday morning. I woke up around 6:30 a.m. with no alarm clock. My eyes didn't thrust open, but rather opened gently as to say today was just going to be a relaxed and wonderful day. I had this feeling of pure peace as I started my day.

I put on some jeans and old t-shirt then walked into the kitchen where I proceeded to make myself a piping hot latte. I have recently got hooked on Lavazza espresso thanks for a great Italian friend of mine.

So there I set at my kitchen table (latté in hand) and decide to open my laptop to check sales. As the laptop fired up the feeling of bliss continued and I deemed that nothing was going to ruin the day.

Then with one simple click my morning changed . . . . That click was on my Mozilla icon.
Google is my home page

There before my eyes was a very nicely done Google logo . . . just for Mothers Day!

What's this . . . pink . . . flowers . . . my heart raced and my blood pressure jumped 20 points!

MOTHERS DAY!

I instantly shut my laptop and made a mad dash to the bedroom where my wife greeted me with "what's going on?"

Trying to remain calm cool and collected, I said "Nothing dear, just going to head to Wal-Mart and buy a news paper."

"Wal-Mart?" she asked "Isn't 7-11 Closer?" . . . . Hooo Smart cookie she is, I knew she was on to me.

I explained that I needed gas and offered to pick up milk! I am pretty slick under pressure you know.

So I climb in my truck and turn on XM radio (Fox News) and of course they are talking about Mother's Day. How could I have missed this? Surely I was the only schmuck in the world who would forget his loving wife and mother of 3 gorgeous children on this special day.

As I walk into Wal-Mart I was greeted by a line of men rummaging through the flower section. . . . I was not alone! I felt a sense of comfort in that fact.

After I finally check out - drive home - then walked in . . . my wife knew what was up and just smiled.

"I was going to see how long it took you to remember!" laughing she added "I thought we were going to make it all the way to church, where I could then look at your face when the Rev. gave a nice Mother's Day centered sermon".

Thanks Google! You Saved Mother's Day for Me!

You need to step away from the computer more often! lol Every commercial on the radio and tv had been promoting mother's day. But glad that you were saved.

      That's just it . . . I don't even have cable TV or an antenna (but I do have a 60 in Plasma for my PS3) . . .

Since I work full time from home my truck can go days with out moving from the driveway.

      I guess I am a bit sheltered.

Its worth noting - I do get out and ride my bike, jog, play at the park with my kids . . . I just don't listen to the news and get depressed.
