Maybe not new to some, but here's an awesome, free way to nail down theives of laptops and tablets (desktops too perhaps):

It's as easy as intaling and clicking a link in an email that forwards you to your control panel.

The control panel allows you to mark the device as "Stolen" and it periodically (according to your time settings) takes a picture of the person using the computer, shows exactly where they are on Google maps as well as a whole range of additional info.
