Where Did My Son, 3, Learn This?
My son didn't watch the movie at all. He insisted on staring at the moon and the stars. He shouted something that made me jump. Of course people nearby turned around to see what that was about. I said, "What?" He pointed to a star in the sky and repeated himself, "Venus!" I didn't teach him that. I said, cool, now watch the movie. But, he still insisted on staring at the moon and said, "Look, daddy, there's a rainbow around the moon." It did have a rainbow-like halo around it. Then he shouted, "Waxing gibbous moon!" I ask him what's that and looked it up on my cell phone.
Sure enough, it was a Waxing Gibbous Moon. I asked his mommy if she taught him that and she looked at me blankly and shook her head. I really don't know how and where he learned that from. Kids seem to learn piece together information out of thin air.
