I had an English Lit professor who insisted on being addressed as Dr.

The girl who sat next to me, Linda Goode, a paraplegic who could barely hold her pen so taking notes was pretty tuff for her. However, she was very intelligent.

This professor was always giving us hell for talking in class and when we explained to her that I was simply helping Linda with her notes she didn't care.
One day Linda stayed after class to discuss something her and she kept insisting Linda address her as "Dr."
After about the 3rd time the professor told Linda that she had earned the title of "Dr." and demanded the respect she deserved. Linda told her "I'll give you my respect when you earn it."

I'd offer that professor up as a HUGE loser but I can't remember her name. Nor do I want to.

I'll take up the debate. The Washington Generals had a 6 and 13,000+ win/loss record during their history. They then changed their name to the New York Nationals and their losing ways still continue.

They took losing to a whole new level and were actually professional losers, paid to lose to the Harlem Globetrotters.

I do. I must have missed the rules for posting my opinion. Care to post them for all of us?

Thread title says "Losers Hall of Fame".

Bengals made the playoffs last year and I picked them in the NFL thread to be good again this year. Hard to call a playoff team a "loser".

But I bet the Nationals will still lose and carry on the tradition of "lovable losers".

I want to talk about people that YES I think have the smartz-money-ability to do good things BUT yet seem to screw UP and not little screwups--
If you have millions in the bank because you used steroids to cheat-you make the loser hall of fame--if you have a lot of money in the bank but seem to get caught doing stupid things-aka Kim Kardashians sex tape-YES your gonna make the list here!

What? Do I smell ideology clouding reason? I may not agree with Jimmy Carter on some things myself, but Jimmy Carter is far from a loser. He is active in an array of charitable projects. I do applaud him for his support for Edward Snowden -- that shows real backbone.

I read a piece in one of our local papers that explained it a little bit. It was ran as a side story to the Ryan Braun mess. Hopefully I can remember enough of the details not to mess it up too much.

Anyway, I don't remember the exact numbers, but according to this story MLB can currently test for something like 500 different PEDs. But, there are tens of thousands of combinations possible through molecular engineering. Players can have PEDs customized to thwart the tests. So while some get caught, probably a lot of others aren't caught who are using.

President definitely was not the right job for him - but he's no loser. You can't be great at everything. It was because he was SO NOT a loser he was elected. Just a mistake for him to take the job because he wasn't good at it. He still had more principles and integrity than 99% of the people we have in office and succeeds in a lot of other areas of life.

How about all the cheaters in horse racing-since there is NO real central hub they continue to drug horses and get minor suspensions-yet they are still allowed to train--each state has their own set of rules-though I enjoy the sport-they are some of the biggest crooks

Ok - I've got one for you.

Duncan, OK - 3 teens shot a jogger in the back because they were "bored".

"They saw Christopher go by, and one of them said: 'There's our target,'" the chief, Danny Ford, told the AP. "The boy who has talked to us said, 'We were bored and didn't have anything to do, so we decided to kill somebody.'"

The juveniles were arrested - but because they are juveniles we won't learn much about them. I think they will be charged as adults - and I think juveniles charged as adults should lose the layer of "protection" they enjoy as minors.

In my opinion, whoever had guns easily available to these teens should also be arrested and charged as an accessory.

The victim was an Australian attending college in the US on a baseball scholarship. An incident like this is what the rest of the world sees as "life in the US". I hope they put these kids away forever - but I doubt that will happen.

The only point I see is that you resent anyone who is higher up the work chain, has more money, has more education, is more famous, etc...than you are.

Trying to bring others down doesn't build you up. Just makes you smaller.

Yup. The two charged with premeditated murder have been in trouble before - have videos on Facebook where they are showing of with guns - and with STACKS of hundred dollar bills.

Their Twitter accounts are full of racial comments against whites. Wonder if a certain "Rev" will tell the DOJ to investigate this as a racial crime?

The father of one of the boys arrested said "we have suffered a loss, too". He seemed sincere but - too bad he didn't know his underage son had guns to play with and huge stacks of money to flash around.

I would like to ad to the list the Boston Marathon bombers ( and their entire enabling family as well).
I recently ran in a local charity road race for two victims of the bombing. A young married couple from a town near me. They were avid runners and each lost a leg as they were watching the marathon. They have been married less than one year. So sad. People who proudly do such cowardly destruction are true losers.
- Politics aside, if you know anything about Jimmy Carter you would know that he is not a loser at all (Actually a great humanitarian).
