5 days with no internet

I was in the kitchen when lightening struck the faucet. It also took out the phone and the internet. The water from the faucet was rusty brown for a while and the water kind of comes out sideways. I was very lucky. I did however find out just how much I needed the internet. I will be making adjustments now just in case this should happen again.

Good to hear you are okay. I don't know much of anything about plumbing, but you might want to check to see if your water pipes were properly grounded.

If I were you, I would be CAREFUL about that water. Maybe even look for a reference, or call the water company. If the water is coming out brown, something may have happened to the water at the plant.

      Exactly, Steve!

Rhonda, glad to hear you are OK. Like Steve mentioned, something may have happened at the plant or elsewhere. Do you have town/city or well water?. This reminds me of Erin Brockovich

Regardless, I'd be having your water tested before drinking/cooking with it etc.

      Best of luck to you!

You know you're in an Internet forum when nobody comments on the part about the water flowing out sideways.

It was a good thing you weren't too near to the faucet otherwise you can get shock. Honestly, I was more focused on how you didn't have internet connection for five straight days but I realized the more serious issue after reading the comments here. Five days with no access to internet connection is really hard.
