Ra ra ra.. Not sure what this has to do with making money. Seems like a rant i've hear a million times from independent media. Now don't get me wrong, I agree with some of the points made, but what's the point of posting this here on WF. OFF TOPIC.. IMO...

I couldn't tell what it was about from the title -- wasn't sure if it was selling something or what, and didn't feel like sitting through 6 1/2 minutes just to find out... so what's it about?

Just about the inequities of the US and all its problems. The unfair ways of the world and about sticking it to the man. Universal servitude and the like. Revolution, revolution. Yawn...

      Did you watch it?

When a video link appears as this one does - it means Allen thinks it's worth watching. I agree with him. It's not about what the "parties" want - it's time to pay attention to what the people want.

But I think taking to the streets will be the eventual answer - not teabags in the mail.

    Where'd the video go?

I'm familiar with We The People.org - right now they are gearing up for a constitutional convention to address the problem of congress refusing to answer the redress grievances - which means they've gone completely rogue and have become a separate entity from the people. Scary stuff. The Tea-party is being laughed at by our leaders so far....as they are planning how to squeeze yet more money out of our wallets.

        Bellamy Brothers?

        OLD HIPPIE
        The Bellamy Brothers

        He turned thirty-five last Sunday
In his hair he found some gray
But he still ain't changed his lifestyle
He likes it better the old way
So he grows a little garden in the back yard by the fence
He's consuming what he's growing nowadays in self defense
He get's out there in the twilight zone
Sometimes when it just don't make no sense

He gets off on country music
        Cause disco left him cold
He's got young friends into new wave
Buts he's just too friggin old
And he dreams at night of Woodstock
And the day John Lennon died
How the music made him happy
And the silence made him cry
Yea he thinks of John sometimes
And he has to wonder why

        CHORUS:
        He's an old hippie
And he don't know what to do
Should he hang on to the old
Should he grab on to the new
        He's an old hippie
His new life is just a bust
He ain't trying to change nobody
He just trying real hard to adjust

He was sure back in the sixties
        That everyone was hip
Then they sent him off to Vietnam
        On his senior trip
And they forced him to become a man
While he was still a boy
And in each wave of tragedy
        He waited for the joy
Now this world may change around him
But he just can't change no more

        CHORUS

Well he stays away a lot now
From the parties and the clubs
And he's thinking while he's joggin' 'round
Sure is glad he quit the hard drugs
Cause him and his kind get more endangered everyday
        And pretty soon the species
Will just up and fade away
Like the smoke from that torpedo
        Just up and fade away

Here's the video in case anyone is too lazy to go to the top of the Main Forum. (Hey, I'm just sayin'...)

I've been saying things like this for years, but has anyone listened to me? Nope. Maybe Thomas Paine can get us to stand up for ourselves and take the U.S. back from the thieves.

      Yep - what he said....

The only thing that bothers me is using the symbolic tea bag - when we should be shouting about "taxation without representation" which is what the original tea party was about....(one of the things anyway)...

The "powers" are so dense these days, you almost need to boil them with the tea to get their attention.

no, we shouldnt be shouting taxation without representation. We have representation, we elected them.

Personaly, i think the problem is the average person has an US vs THEM mentality, but has it oriented in the wrong way.

        It isnt repub vs democrat
        it isnt white vs black
it isnt the u.s. vs an other country

its the haves vs the have nots.

all the other versions of us vs them are just diversionary tactics to keep us (the have nots) split up and fighting amongst each other.

I read an interesting rant to day that said there are 522 people in washington that control this country of a couple billion. Everything that is wrong is this country is directly traced to them and them alone. If the repubs and the dems were both against the war, why are we still in the war, if they were both against big gov't spending, then why do we have big gov spending.

simple. because they are the haves, we are the have nots. for the haves to keep being the haves, they need the have nots to do the grunt work for them.

you dont see 'haves' going to war, or working a 40 hour a week job and in many cases they dont even pay taxes. Do you want the b.s. to stop? Start by clearing washington out.

but all the cute videos and tea parties and emails and online polls in the world isnt going to bring about change.

People in power, especially people in power of a country born of, supported by, and who's biggest industry is war (that would be the u.s.) are not going to give up that power without a fight, or because someone sends them a nasty email or sends an online petition.

Allen - many kisses and congrats for seeing the dangers -- and helping move against them. It's late, but we might just pull it off with enough people shouting.

It's come time to run them out of the white house, these creatures are not our ilk. THey are not Americans - and they are a grave danger if we let them continue to usurp the highest offices.

Tea bags will make some headway -- but only if they receive them by the several millions. So people - get mailing.

It's expected people will eventually take to the streets. Whether peaceful or violent, there are troops ready to put down people demanding their country back...

The First Brigade of the Third Infantry Division, three to four thousand soldiers, has been deployed in the United States as of October 1. Their stated mission is the form of crowd control they practiced in Iraq, subduing "unruly individuals"

The video is kind of rambling -- the guy gives his position on at least a dozen different issues, some I agree with, some I don't.

Where was all this unfocused rage during the last eight years of approved torture, going to war on lies, expanding the police state, and running up the deficit to record levels? NOW everyone's suddenly getting on the President's case, who inherited this godawful mess and has barely had any time to do anything about it, if anyone can do anything about it.

At least the President was elected by a majority of the people this time -- unlike the last two elections.

Obama's more liberal than Bush, but other than that he's just another corporate stooge... he's certainly so "socialist."

Huh?!? Are you serious? You haven't seen the rage for the last 8 years? You must not watch CNN or MSNBC...or ABC or CBS or NBC. I guess you don't read the New York Times or Time Magazine. Sounds you like haven't watched Letterman or Leno in a while. Or heard anything that comes out of Hollywood on a regular basis. There has been lots and lots and lots of rage against the previous administration for the past 8 years. The fact that you haven't seen or heard or read it shocks me.
NOW everyone's suddenly getting on the President's case, who inherited this godawful mess and has barely had any time to do anything about it, if anyone can do anything about it.
Now wait a minute. You complain that the previous administration ran "up the deficit to record levels," but you're not going to complain that the current president is doing the same (actually to higher levels)?
At least the President was elected by a majority of the people this time -- unlike the last two elections.
Doesn't matter...we don't elect presidents by majority vote, we use the Electoral College. You'll need to change the Consitution if you don't like it. (Actually, Bush won the majority vote in 1994 vs. Kerry...you can look it up!) EDIT: That last statement should read 2004.

Would someone like to compare these recent bailouts against the costs Bush forced upon us to fund this disgusting war?

Then ask yourself who has helped increase this record deficit more, Bush or Obama?

I haven't looked into it yet, so I honestly don't know.

But I have a feeling Obama's massive give-away of the public funds to private institutions is much larger than what has been spent on the war to date.

And Obama's only been in office a bit more than a hundred days...

Anyone want to prove me wrong?

There was a general election in 1994? For President? What election in 1994 are you talking about?

Also - With the privately owned diebolts that we've been using to vote with, we will never know what the REAL vote totals are. If you look THAT up you will see how elections have become nothing but a joke to make the slaves feel powerful. They even had a monkey hack one - not kidding. THAT is why there is a movement against electronic voting and electoriate votes at all. Even watching the shenanigans pulled
in the choosing electoriates this time around revealed how maneuvered our elections are. In a REAL election with an unbiased media, without blackouts on certain candidates, disqualifying of candidates who lie about their history, without DIEBOLT, this country would have a whole different crowd in the white house.

I am sick about these handouts too, and I haven't forgotten that Bush is the one that started handing them out, and without any accountability. It's quite sad to see the documents, released under the Freedom of Information Act, with everything blacked-out by the Bush white house lawyers. Billions handed out to corporations, no one with any idea of who got the money or what was done with it.

Bush is not a Conservative in any way, which is why I find it strange that most of the people that are mad at Obama for his spending never so much as raised their voice above a whisper about Bush's spending like a drunken sailor the past 8 years.

True conservatives recognize that Bush isn't even remotely one of them.

You're absolutely right, Dennis. The irony is comical.

For 8 years the previous administration along with the Republicans in Congress spent like crazy. The Democrats complained and the Republicans defended.

Now, the current administration and the Democrats in Congress are doing the EXACT SAME DAMNED thing (except more of it). The Republicans complain while the Democrats defend.

Here's the icing on the cake: The supporters of the current administration are essentially saying, "Bush put us here with his economic policies, so, in order to get us out of our current mess, we must do the same thing he did, but more of it."

But alas, all this spending has nothing to do with the economy at all. It's about paying back the core constituency groups that got the current administration elected to office.

Regardless of your political bent, if you run a business (or wish to, for those just starting out), you'd better sit up and take notice of Obama's policies. They're downright hostile to business entities.

Well, his wonderful proposed social policies have nothing to do with business, you say? Better think again! His pledge to not tax the people can be directly translated into his intention to shift the burden to businesses. And the people will be taxed, too, they just don't know it yet.

There is no free ride. He has some very lofty ideals, and he's been less-than-honest about how they're going to be paid for. You don't get something for nothing - especially from the US government.

Think about that the next time you sit down to map out your 5 year budget. How much income are you currently allotting for future tax rates? I'll bet it's not enough!
