By the way - all of the headlines say he was taken into custody - and then go on to say that he wasn't "actually" taken into custody. He was detained at the house, questioned - and then no charges were filed.

Mainstream media at its finest...and of course, everyone jumps to conclusions. I bet the "actual" police report is different than the CBS report.

I thought this was the same thread so just most posts were deleted. Wish I would have seen the one that triggered the nuke.

I saw it. It quickly degenerated into name-calling and many of the same problems that caused the thread to be locked or nuked, whichever it was, way back when the trial ended. There was nothing new, just the same old arguments stirring up the same old venom.

Hours later, Shellie Zimmerman changed her story and said she never saw a firearm, said Bracknell. For the time being, "domestic violence can't be invoked because she has changed her story and says she didn't see a firearm," Bracknell said.
She filed for divorce - went back home to her parents (again) - went on TV and talked about George and their marriage...can't imagine why he'd be angry.

She doesn't have both oars in the water - and he needs to relocate far away from Florida and start over.

          Thank you!

I was never a George Zimmerman fan...but this report was very one sided, and I listened to her voice in the 911 call.

She may genuinely have been in trouble...but the call wasn't real evidence of that. And I agree, he needs to get out of Dodge. Only anger and pain there.

Anyway, Zimmerman's brother said "The media is a business. They are not your friend". Sounded about right.

I didn't know there was a thread on it already, it must not have lasted very long or I wouldn't have started this one if I had seen it.

Funny thing is why can't we all differ on opinions without arguing and name calling, truth of the matter is that some people are addicted to drama, they have to have it and can't live without it.

    Can I get a refund?

I don't know. I'd guess you lose them but I'm only guessing.

I just gave you one though, so if they are lost you at least get one back.

That's certainly true, but it's not all of the problem.

We have a few members who have views on race and religion that are best reserved for other fora. Those are precisely the sorts of views which they feel compelled to share here. Deleting posts and issuing temporary bans just make them more vague in their approach, and they end up posting extremely hostile comments with unclear motivations behind them.

Sure path to a flamefest. And a prescription for thread deletion.

Thank you Dennis and Joseph for the returned thank you's. I guess they could be called recycled thank you's now.

I agree on the name-calling - some people can't resist it. They were probably called names or somehow bullied and now are retaliating blindly whenever they get a chance.

The difference is - I do not agree with your premise for reasons a, b and c.
I believe you are wrong for reasons x y and z. Fine -

    But:

I do not agree with you, you are as dumb as a rock, left or right of stupid, and your mother wears combat boots, obviously since you do not agree with me.

    AND in the 3rd person:

Obviously (Username) is ignorant and what's more he reads the mainstream news (gasp) and believes it! Nobody is this lame to parrot what the news says.

    AND relays:

To someone who agrees with them: I am so happy to see that not everybody on these boards is ignorant.

Mass Insult - or blanket indictment on all of our mentality, just because they can't see it our way - I am not saying agree but just try to see another perspective and whether or not you agree or understand, just dummy up.

It really is UGLY - and falls under the rule about BASHING other Warriors.

Disagree? YES! but make it personal? Go for the jugular? Too Nasty.

There ought to be some kind of a law against this and I believe there is.

Anyway Thank you for being tolerant of our differences.

      Against rudeness?

I'm not thinking that would be a good idea. There are already useful ways people can deal with it, and the standard is waaay too subjective.

That ignores the fact that rudeness is sometimes appropriate. Not often, but sometimes.

hmmmm - i am not sure i mean 'rudeness', Paul, which is a pretty vast area - and I agree it is waaaaay too subjective*...

i was referring to 'bashing' - persecuting someone publicly for their beliefs - calling them names - shaming them. 9/10 - i forgot blaming. goes with the set. ;o)

Well anyway I am probably harping and I am sure there is a law against that at least with guys lol. (and I know I am guilty as much as anyone for being judgemental but trying to improve with age). :p (now I just think it secretly lol).

    * p.s actually to me MERELY "RUDE"(?) : Rude is an art form.

I cite gary oldman as an emaciated sid vicious ("sid & nancy")
stopped by the pizza dive - ate his little pizza and calmly
Kicked Over the Table and Split. "How "Rude" " .

I am in AWE as an interpreter (particularly @ emotions) of How Rude Gary Oldman IS.

Nah - I am talking persecution - "bashing another warrior"
that is 2 NASTY 4 me.

The media has to be one of the scariest vehicle around since they form peoples views and beliefs. I mean to the point where people will actually take physical action because they believe in what they saw on the news.

    scary!!!!

could you imagine if there was no internet and we only had to deal with mainstream news!!!!!!!????

would that be scary or what

      Don't think so.

Stories like this one are often better the second day.

No hitting, no gun seen or threatened...wife had gone back to residence to take more property after property division had been agreed on. He showed up to complain about it - and his girlfriend was in the car. Oops.

Both need to move on separately - and media needs to get over it.
