Wow, Dave - they threw you to the OTers. Don't worry, Pal - I'll keep you safe here.
Got to admit - the post looks like an ad from hell, LOL.

While you are here could you please explain something to me - in more that 140 characters?

Everyone is making a huge noice about @replies. I can see @replies on my home page (which I assume to be my main feed read page) and I can see them on my @replies page - which makes one bit of sense. Yet people are petitioning to bring them back. Where is it they used to show up and don't now?
What the hell is going on with this issue?

Actually Sally, I think I started the topic here...

Didn't want to cause anyone any angst...

Okay, to explain, to the best of my ability:

Originally twitter had three options on your settings/notices page.
1.) Do NOT show me ANY @replies
2.) Show me only the @replies sent TO me (default)
3.) Show me ALL @replies from the people I follow

The 1st option, and the 3rd have been removed. Actually they've all been
removed, but the default is, well the default. Those that had NO @replies
have them now (as best I understand), and those that wanted ALL @replies
    only have the default.

    Why the hue and holler?

The ones that "understood" the setting, used it to follow the conversations of the
people they were following, the conversations that may have been with someone
else that they were NOT following, but may have been interested in doing so.

Further questions? Ask, and I'm happy to try and answer them...

    Be Well!
    ECS Dave

Thanks Dave - now it's clear. I am a new user so never really caught on to what the problem was. I like to interact though and it sounds like I'm missing a good feature. However - saw a thread about twitter and they said for some reason that crashes the system, or just doesn't integrate well, they are not considering putting it back.
Wish I remembered where I read it - some blog a follower linked on a tweet.

BTW - avatar - I was afraid to ask, LOL. I did that once in a similar situation only to find that I was insulting someone's wife. Now that is a difficult one to walk out of with any semblance of grace, trust me on that one.
