And it couldn't have been easy. When you buy a new laptop these days, mostly 7 isn't even a possibility. 8 is already installed. An exception is Lenovo. When I ordered one there a few months ago, 7 was the default OS and 8 was an option. It's been a bit of a peeve of mine. 8 does do some things better than 7, but as far as organization goes, and getting things done from the desktop, it's just (mostly) more clumsy. Not a big deal. I happened to need 8 and you can improve the default settings a fair amount so I just accept an extra click here and there, and there, and there etc.
