Why do you always have to be so skeptical? I mean, really - it's easy to see the UN is taking over the bailout programs begun in the US and expanding them globally. They are doing their part -what's your problem?

USA Today reported that bailout funds were being given to six major life insurance companies!

Today, I find this online:

Allstate turns down bailout money from government

CHARLOTTE (AP) -- Allstate became the second insurer Tuesday to turn down a bailout from the Treasury Department after being approved for government funding .

The property and casualty insurer said it has strong capital and liquidity positions.

Allstate (ALL) was among six insurers approved by the Treasury to receive government aid. On Friday, financial adviser Ameriprise Financial also turned down bailout funding.

Allstate said it had $12.2 billion of equity and $23.1 billion of cash or liquid assets in its investment portfolio as of March 31. It has since bolstered its finances with a $1 billion debt offering, and its securities holdings gained more than $1.5 billion in value from the end of the first quarter through May 13, the company said.

"Given Allstate's strong capital and liquidity positions ... we will not participate in this program," said Chief Executive Thomas Wilson in a prepared statement Tuesday.

Last week, the federal government agreed to extend billions of bailout funds to six major life insurers, including Allstate, helping them shore up their capital positions in the wake of major investment losses.

The Hartford Financial Services Group said Thursday that it had been notified by the Treasury that it was eligible for $3.4 billion from the Troubled Asset Relief Program, or TARP. Lincoln National said it has been initially cleared for a $2.5 billion capital injection.

Allstate did not disclose how much money it was approved to receive.

Other companies receiving approval include Prudential Financial and Principal Financial Group. It is uncertain how much these firms are eligible to receive.

As the banking industry accepted billions in government bailout funds last fall, life insurers aggressively lobbied for their own piece of the federal aid, worried about their balance sheets, which had been saddled by hefty investment losses from the declines in the stock market. But the government was slow to approve the requests. Subsequently, the stocks of most public insurance companies have fallen sharply in recent months.

Shares of Allstate rose modestly in morning trading Tuesday. Its shares have traded between $13.77 and $51.55 over the past year, but are down 25% so far this year.

Separately on Tuesday, Allstate declared a quarterly dividend of 20 cents a share on its common stock. The dividend is payable July 1 to shareholders of record May 29.

Tina, they are doing it because somebody is making a ton of money from it, somewhere, somehow. The American public is taking it in the rear big time and our esteemed congressmen and women voted for these bills without even reading the damned things!

They should ALL be sent to the gallows as traitors to their own country.

Remember Obama standing at the podium telling us there is no time to think, but we must act right now? We must take action right now or it will all get worse.

Allstate doesn't need the money - they tripled my property insurance instead! The TARP is being used as a slush fund now - we have no idea where it's going.

However, ACORN is up for 8 BILLION in taxpayer funds. How you like those apples?

Hell, with the crap that the pharms and corps like Monsanto are getting away with to kill us off life insurers probably are going belly up - not going to get better.

Most people knew that the first bail out was the end of the USA as we know it. It's the same thing, to the letter (don't groan - I didn't write history, I'm just the messanger), that allowed Hitler full control of Germany. Not only did our people not storm the Capitol then and get rid of the perps - they actually forgot all about it in two weeks and re-elected many of those guilty of selling us into this fascist bull shit.

Now everyone is saying WWWWAAAAAHHHHHHH. Tough love. Either get your local traitor out of office or clam up about it.

Yes, Sal, if they get caught. The Chinese are notorious for stealing and copying DVD's and CD's, soon as we invent something , they come out with a knockoff version of it, the list goes on. China is full of mentally corrupt people and that includes scammers and hackers.

Besides, the China email addy is probably just a stop along the way, right back to Nigeria or Jamaica...

I just don't understand the skepticism! I mean, I think this is divine intervention. Just last week I misplaced roughly $25.5 million and have not been able to find it anywhere. Checked all the usual places: secret desk drawer, secret vault behind the toilet, wall safe behind the giant picture of a half-nude Victorian lady, under the couch cushions, I mean everywhere. Can you imagine how embarrassed I was when I went to Star Bucks earlier this week, ordered my large Americano, and when I went to pay realized I didn't have my $25.5 million on me? Luckily, my friend had about $37.5 million on him and was able to cover me. Needless to say, I was a little upset having lost the $25.5 mil. Then, just today, Michael Robertson, excuse me, the Reverend Sir Michael Robertson says that he has my money! A man of God has my money! It has to be a miracle. Unfortunately, since I lost the $25 mil. I can't cover the UPS charge L. So, I emailed the Rev. Sir Michael Robertson and informed him that if he is willing to cover the UPS charge, I will be willing to give him $3 million dollars cash! I figure it's a fair deal. I'll let you know what he says.

I get 4-5 a day of these letters. Most come from Nigeria-they must not have very good laws about it there. I like your take on it though -lol. I figure this forum will help me get my millions as I learn how to work on the internet.
