A Record-Setting Blizzard Killed 75,000 Cows and You Might Not Have Even Heard About It | Video | TheBlaze.com

I can't believe that there's absolutely no national news about this.

There was a lot of news about the blizzard - especially because it was such a bad one and early in the season. Did not realize ranchers had left cattle out in pastures with a blizzard approaching but maybe there wasn't enough warning to bring them in.

    Sad. Poor things.

Because they don't want to upset hindus, although it's a very mooving story.

I would have assumed it was non-news because lots of animals die in every blizzard. I would assume they were still in summer pastures when this one hit, though, so probably more dead than usual. One of the reasons factory farms are so cruel and screwed up - no protection for the animals.

I wonder - if it's out in the cold like that, can they still process the meat?

I agree there was little news coverage at least at google news. I heard they had a storm but that was it - until last night somebody in Boston told me about all the dead cows.

It is very sad - not just for the cows but for the farmers who lost their livelihood.

    Freaky damn weather alright...

Didn't hear a peep in AU news?

We did hear about the US Obama blockage though! Or as little about what could eventually happen as possible.

It seems that there is a blackout about the 20T, can't pay the interest anymore, looming issue?

But l suspect Europe or China will bail the US out, so!

Yes, the livestock was still in summer pasture because this was a freak storm. Even in that part of the country, a blizzard this early in the season is almost unheard of. I'm sure the livestock is a loss because you can't process an animal days after it died, cold or not.

That is horrible! I didn't hear anything about it until now. But I've been extremely bust the past couple of weeks.

I must say though, that this country is getting more and more strange each and every day from the weather to the laws to the people. I hardly recognize it any more...

Maybe they just didn't want to milk it.

Lol! First I thought it was 'Blizzard', the game developing company that had been on a killing spree.

Now I know what a 'Blizzard' actually is. Thanks.
