I got mine through HostGator where I host some of my sites. The SSL certificate was actually issued by Comodo Security Services. There are several types of SSL Certificates. The one I bought is a Domain level (Domain Control Validation) certificate and covers my main website and all subdomains defined within it. The certificate was $50 per year. The SSL certificate also requires you to have a static IP address. That was another $24 per year. This type of certificate allows me to host my Facebook pages as well as handle secure e-commerce transactions from my website.

    I hope the information helps.

    Regards,
    Barry
