  • I suppose I'm an old fuddy-duddy, but I don't see anything humorous in making children cry.

  • Nice try, Ken. Not finding humor in it and child abuse are vastly different things. Thanks for playing though.

    • There are two issues:

      1. teasing/pranking your kid

Kids needs to learn to laugh at themselves - not to take everything so seriously. They need to worry less about "rights" and more about having fun growing up. Good natured teasing is not going to harm a child and learning to laugh at yourself is a valuable lesson!

      2. USING your child to entertain others or please a TV host

Totally different. To me it can border on exploitation. Parents might say they are proud and want to show their child off but I don't buy that. Kids should not be used by parents to entertain strangers.

  • Makes me glad I didn't grow up with stupid parents and YouTube.

  • IMAGINE if that first boy were 10 years older. YIKES! I guess we have to wait for the domestic abuse charges, huh?

But YEAH, this is a bad thing to do to a kid.

  • You can have the candy.

It's all sugar, fake color and corn syrup. I look for corn syrup on every ingredient list and it sure blocks me from buying a lot of stuff. Seems to be added to everything.

As far as bawling over it goes, holy cow our world needs some priorities.

    • Priorities like WHAT? They're small KIDS! They don't understand about work, or people going against freedoms, etc... Maybe they EVEN did all their homework and chores! Some may have parents that INSISTED they do that first!

They may have gone WAY out of their comfort level. One even spoke of how she WORKED for it. And THEN to find that someone STOLE your candy!? Maybe someone you DEPEND on?

The sugared treats may have been the LEAST of their concern.

Frankly, I wish halloween never existed, for MANY reasons! I wouldn't have minded if it NEVER existed. But it DID and DOES and these kids were wipsawed through emotions. I don't think it warrants throwing and hitting but, for a little kid? EXPECT tears and some crying.

  • Jason - they aren't little adults, they're kids. It was "special candy" not just regular candy. They got all dressed up and went parading their streets in fantasy mode to collect it during a mass fantasy festival that they wait all year for.

And yeah - if it were more than once a year, I'd be worried sick about those kids with the crap they put in candy now. Real sugar, though refined, is the least of our worries about candy ingredients now days. Make it at home or leave it alone. Of course - you can probably buy the stuff straight from the Hershey factories that they send to France. That doesn't have GMO ingredients in it. US candy does. Nice huh?

  • What would Mr. Rogers say?

It isn't a wonderful day in the neighborhood anymore.

  • I see people commenting on the video about how bratty these kids are behaving - and that's true - but most adults behave the same way when their kid spills a drink in their new car.

Let's have a new video called - "hey dad, I shot a hole in your new bass boat", or "hey mom, I put your Gucci purse in the washing machine." - Now that would be fun to watch.

    • The last two kids in the OP video are so sweet abut it ..most of the others are typical kids with the tears reaction and a couple are true brats, throwing things and hitting.

  • I must be in the wrong kind of mood. That video made me feel sad.

    • I don't see anything wrong with your reaction to these kind of
      videos.

People should pursue something more noble than being deliberately
cruel to their children and then putting it on the Internet.
Likewise for the videos where people tease their dogs for too long,
or do the guilty dog thing...

Or anything worse that is intentionally done and gets posted on YouTube.
