Here Is One Email Provider Who Refuses To Betray The American People

Ever heard of Judas Iscariot and how he betrayed his friend and master for a half year's wages?

A lot of email service providers have the heart of Judas Iscariot and they are betraying the American people by turning over information to those who are conducting a fishing expedition.

What if there was someone who like the founding fathers was willing to give up his life, fortune and sacred honor rather than betray the American people and what if there was one who opted to fight against the robbers of liberty and freedom?

Enter: The owner of lavabit.com

Here is what he says on his email provider website after closing down operations:

"My Fellow Users, I have been forced to make a difficult decision: to [either] become complicit in crimes against the American people or walk away from nearly ten years of hard work by shutting down Lavabit. After significant soul searching, I have decided to suspend operations. I wish that I could legally share with you the events that led to my decision. I cannot. I feel you deserve to know what's going on--the first amendment is supposed to guarantee me the freedom to speak out in situations like this. Unfortunately, Congress has passed laws that say otherwise. As things currently stand, I cannot share my experiences over the last six weeks, even though I have twice made the appropriate requests.

What's going to happen now? We've already started preparing the paperwork needed to continue to fight for the Constitution in the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals. A favorable decision would allow me resurrect Lavabit as an American company.

This experience has taught me one very important lesson: without congressional action or a strong judicial precedent, I would _strongly_ recommend against anyone trusting their private data to a company with physical ties to the United States.

Sincerely,
Ladar Levison
Owner and Operator, Lavabit LLC

Taken from the home page of the site. I added the word [either] above because it clarified what he was trying to say.

Saving one dog will not change the world - but the world will change forever for that one dog.
It takes nothing away from a human to be kind to an animal.

I saw this coming 2 years ago and moved all of my websites to a Canadian webhost - I still deal with some American providers - but as little as possible.

I am so worried about all my American friends and a close family member who lives in Florida - I can`t believe what is happening in the US -

The SAD part is that I toyed with this about 23 years or so ago, and did little. As for CANADA? Who knows?

The ironic part is that email is VERY insecure! Outside of encrypting it on YOUR local computer, ASSUME it will be read!
