Is it safe in Blooklyn?

Im a Chinese traveller to east coast of the USA.I will watch a NBA match at Barklay Center,Brooklyn in the beginning of this November.

I think it's going to be over 23 o'clock local time after the match so Im wondering if it's safe for my wife and I to get back our hotel near wall street,manhattan by subway?Is there really crimes in the subway in late night? Do I have to take a taxi for safety concerns?

Thanks for any advise from someone here,who lives in Brooklyn.

    That part of Brooklyn is pretty safe. The police presence is beefed up because of the arena. It's only a short ride to Wall St from the event. However, if you're concerned, a cab from there shouldn't cost too much. Less than $30 I think.

    Last I checked, a cab STILL costs an average of roughly $3/mile. It is cheaper in the long run to just take taxis, unless you are going pretty far. ALSO, some hotels have shuttles. I think they usually go up to maybe 7 miles. You should book at least 12 hours in advance, to make sure. ALSO, even some hotels that DON'T usually shuttle people WILL shuttle them to events.

    Ron IS right to a degree, and I can't say from personal experience about THAT area, but it could be BAD, or uneventful. It is better to err on the side of safety.
