  Possibly, had it been a St. Bernard with Claude's haircut. But...I probably still would have teared up. It took us four years to train Claude to not roll around in garbage. Hell, we STILL have to hide the litter box from him. He thinks it's full of tootsie rolls with a panko coating.

I've seen this video before, and it chokes me up. As you can tell from my avatar, the dog in this story appears to be the same breed as our little girl. A very fun and playful and loving breed.

While this story has a happy ending, unfortunately many similar stories do not. I cannot tell you how much disgust I have for people who abandon dogs and cats.

This is their youtube channel - Eldad Hagar - YouTube

They have lots of dog rescue videos on there and like the video on this thread they can be quite emotional. Good to see that there are people out there that help like this.

You beat me to it Alistair. That man is a legend for what he does, very brave too, some of the dogs he's rescued look like they could take a lion on.

I discovered him a few months ago and follow all the dogs progress on his FB page, it's nearly always a very happy ending for dogs that are treated in the most awful way or have wound up in a terrible place.

It makes me feel so good to see these films. I've only had one rescue.......and that was Ricky. He was such an amazing little guy.

I agree. Yesterday I saw a short commercial for Best Friends Pet Project. This is a group that not only advocates for animals but WORKS at it. They do their best to transform shelters into "no kill" shelters and are often first on scene at natural disasters.

I'll always remember this group for the amazing work they did after Katrina. They saved hundreds of animals and have done it time after time around the country.

I don't know about YOU guys, but I kind of internalize this. IMAGINE it is VERY cold(below 32F (aka <0C)), you are fully blind, in a place you know NOTHING about, with creatures that may kick you as soon as look at you, and you are INFESTED with FLEAS! To top it OFF, you have to go SO badly that your urine freezes around you. YIKES!

I'm happy to see she is able to see a bit, is cleaned up, and doing FAR better.
