Good band, good music, but maybe I am thinking of a different Morning Dew. I didn't hear anything that sounded like the song I know.

    All great versions.
Two with Beck in a row. Awesome.

This is the first Version I ever heard...on the first Dead Album I ever bought ( and I still have it).

Good band. Are they local, Thom? I've never heard of them.

This was the first version of Morning Dew that I heard...

      Nope not local Dennis.
I first heard them on Youtube when I was looking for Bodhran tunes and found this.
Still one of my favorites to play on Bodhran.

I've never heard of them before. I liked them, but was disappointed by the similarities of the two songs.

Thought you might like to hear the original version of Morning Dew by Bonnie Dobson, who wrote the song in 1962. She was staying with friends and the guests were talking about nuclear holocaust and Armageddon. When everyone else went to bed she stayed up and wrote the song. It was the first song she ever wrote. It's a dialog between the last man and last woman on earth.

Funny, Seems I am the only one that liked this version?

I have to admit I do like listening to the same song done different ways.

As soon as this version started though my thoughts went to It's A beautiful Day.

I found the styles similar...not the songs intself.

I found that one just annoying, Dennis. Guess it's time for me to back out of the thread and let you people that enjoy that style talk.

See ya all around where it rocks!

I posted two, but I assume you're talking about the original by Bonnie Dobson. I don't like it either, and wouldn't listen to the whole thing if you paid me.

Well, maybe if you paid enough...

Anyway, I thought the origins of the song was kind of interesting. It's been recorded by all kinds of people in rock and even country, and it was the first song she ever wrote.

Not sure what you're upset about, really. Didn't mean to drive you away.

LOL. Upset? I just figured if I'm going to listen to other people's picks of music, I can find a thread that has music I will actually enjoy hearing. I felt I got enough "culture" for one sitting.
