Oh for god's sake things have just gone too far and we all sit and take it.

If someone is offended by a country's flag - they are offended by all it stands for -- so what the hell are THEY doing in that country? Should be issued a one way ticket out of there and invited to not step back over the border.

What has happened to the world? Pretty soon all flags and Christmas lights will be banned. They almost are now since ppl are ordered to remove them. We've been taking it for so long that a monster's been created that can't be stopped. Really sad when such simple rights are taken away.

In the UK it is illegal to fly the Union Flag without a licence or temporary police permission.
In the UK the new overseer of the teaching of religious studies in schools is a representative of only 3% of the population.
In Spain I am an immigrant and I admire their methods of dealing with the hundreds of illegals that try to get into the country in small boats. Those that don't die on the journey (and a great many do) are given medical treatment and food, allowed to recuperate and then sent back to their country of origin as quickly as possible.

Incredible, isn't it? Ask a British minister why we can't send the illegals back to their country of origin, and the usual response is "Oh well, that would be breaking EU law...". So how come the Spanish can do it then?

Not saying I agree with it Kim and Sal, just it's the sorry excuse our govt. uses to try and justify it's actions when it suits it.

I saw on the news yesterday there was a swearing in ceremony for around 20 immigrants who became citizens. I wish I had known in advance, I would of have liked to have been there to applaud them for doing it right.
I noticed in the news clip they where all given small American flags which they all held proudly.

I'm not very patriotic or religious, but if you're in this country and have a problem with our flag, Christmas, our other holidays, or language you have two choices.
Either keep it to yourself, or leave.
Especially our language, if you're to lazy to learn English don't expect me to learn Spanish or give a rats ass that you can't understand me or I you.

When I was young a grumpy old neighbor with a slight speech impediment was always calling ME an illegal immigrant...

I never understood why.

I recently ran into an old neighborhood pal and mentioned the old guy to him and asked why he thought the old man always referred to me as such.

He laughed...then told me I misunderstood.

He was calling me an ignorant degenerate...

I was looking to move away from the USA when i got my "service related disability" ( i have valley fever), even Mexico has stricter immigration policies than the US, every country in the world (just about) has laws that protect the jobs of the native population from immigrants except us, its pretty obvious that our government doesn't care about us except as a source of revenue.

My husband and I are AF vets, my daughter and son in law ARmy. My nephew AF vet, so Memorial (and Veterens Day) are a big deal for me. We all joined up thinking it was an honor to serve as my father did in WW II.

Part of the defending ,of course is defending American rights. Liberity is a hard thing. THere is not just a love it or leave it option. THe guy was a jerk for complaining about the flag. The hospital was an even bigger jerk, and it bit them in the ass.

That lady showed courage, To stand up for what is right in your own heart, that is the sprit of America, even for us members of the ACLU and other such groups.

Power to her, and those like her.

Jerks like the ones found in that hospital, come in all shapes, sizes, and nationalities. Maybe the hospital will find a cure for jerkdom. One can only hope. While we are waiting, we can stand up and speak up. Thanks for relating the story Michael, I had missed it.

I guess I'll be the contrarian here.

When you are on company property you may not have all the "rights" to say and do whatever you want that you think you do. Does putting a big flag in your office space make you more patriotic than the next guy? Nope.

If you want to put a big flag in every room of your home you have that right - but people like to put their symbols where others can see them.

And how easy it is to get us all arguing about rights as they pertain to symbols - while we ignore issues that really do affect us.

In the end I think I feel the same about the person placing the flag and the person who complained - just seems silly on both sides.

How you care for your flag is not silly. And there are certain rules to go with flags.

Since the african retard obviously doesnt know these rules because they dont have flag rules where they come from and they dont care enough about the country they are pissing all over enough to read the rules, that flag will now have to be destroyed because it hit the ground.

Just a couple things I wanted to add.

First off the vast majority of immigrants add to the cultural diversity of North America while at the same time respecting and loving their adopted land.

Secondly, it doesn't take an immigrant to complain about something like this. It just takes someone with a stick up their a$$. There are people from all countries (even our own wherever that may be) that are over sensitive whiners.

I think this thread is beginning to paint a broad stroke about a lot of people, when all the anecdotes in it are about only a few.

Go to the UK and listen to their anecdotes - they are about natural born Brits!

An illegal immigrant with AIDs is 'entitled' to free housing, social security payments, relief from council tax and all the free medical care he requires - a Brit, like me, who visits the UK and needs medical treatment has to pay for it. If my circumstances put me in the position of having to repatriate myself I will have to prove at least six months of residence before I could even think about asking for any of the services to which I should be entitled - free prescriptions being the only one I would claim.

Natural born Brits (and that includes coloured Brits) are way back in the queue when it comes to getting help from the services for which they pay - a long way back!

Gotta disagree with you on this one, Kay. Of course - you are right that the person was at work and a company has the rights to the workplace...but....

it was Memorial Day week and there should have been flags flying everywhere at a time we honor our war heroes for keeping this land free. The flag itself wasn't the big deal - it was the attitude that is starting to stink. And it is stinking furiously.

Our flag has a symbolism that many of us are forgetting - it represents our law of the land - Freedom. It is what we are supposed to stand for....and to be willing to fight for at all costs. It is a symbol to be upheld by all in this country....and cherished by those whose forefathers have kept it flying.

So while the company was within its rights legally, morally they missed the point badly. They walked out of it by saying that it was too big. Why didn't they tell the employee that in the first place and I am sure she would have understood and brought in a smaller one......but to reject the symbol outright, especially during Memorial holiday was just unAmerican.......and I for one, have had more than enough of that crap. Ask anyone who lives where people fly Mexican flags on our turf and they will tell you why the flag is such a "big deal".

Wow this post amazes me.

Now I'm not in the US and have never been to the country.
But to my knowledge, the US is a nation based on immigration.
So technically, apart from the native Americans, everyone is
an immigrant tracing back a few generations.

So it's funny to see that just because of a selected incident,
"native" Americans like the OP believes that they're in the
superior position to issue a warning to ALL "immigrants" that
have nothing to do with this.

"Ok immigrants... lets get something straight..."

If that's not condescending and marginalizing, I don't know
what is.

Sure, the behaviour of the people described is offensive
and inconsiderate. But it's quite apparent from this thread
that there's an extremely strong "us" and "them" sentiment
in the States towards "immigrants". And I certainly wouldn't

America is a melting pot. You can be chinese, french, african, we dont care, but when you step down onto these shores, you are American. Whatever you were before you got here is secondary. That means that regardless of what you think, if you want to get along in this country you will follow our laws and rules and assimiliate into the culture. Many immigrants today dont do that.

We dont care how you did it 'back home'..if where you came from was so great, you wouldnt be here. One of the things we tend to frown on (as do most countries) is disrespecting our flag, to us, that is the same as disrespecting our country, and to soldiers that served defending this country and that flag, its like spitting in their faces.

We have rules for handling of that flag, one of them is that it can't hit the ground, and if it does, it must be destroyed.

It is basically the illegals that are the problem, but even many of the legals are becoming very loud about not having any respect for our country. It is causing problems and will continue to do so until immigrants start showing some respect for the culture which is now being destroyed by illegals. We are also very tired of being told we have to make concessions for immigrants while they are not held to any sort of respect for native citizens. From what you're saying I gather that "immigrants" are
causing nothing but trouble for the "real" Americans in
the US, especially if "they are milking the citizens for
every cent we've ever seen" as you put it. If that's the
case, perhaps the best solution is for the US to abolish
immigration altogether.

But I have to ask, is what you're saying based on proven
facts, nation-wide research, statistics or is it a general
feeling that you have?

First understand that if YOU came here right now and wanted to become a citizen, it would take upwards of 8-10 years for the process to be completed. The criminals that come here illegally, believe they should either not have to do the same, or should be put ahead of people like you.

If anyone from any country gives birth in this country, that child is a citizen by birth. Mom and dad can be illegal, but the child is a citizen, and our PC culture wont break the family up. Women come here, already pregnant, knowning this, just so they can drop their child inside our borders.

I can take you to unending amounts of places around here where illegals live in apartments made for 2-3 people, but they are stacked 10-15 deep in there, making it easy for them to live on the low wages they get, most of which they send back home. Taking money out of an economy and never replacing it is not a good thing

There are groups like la raza that want to make it so that illegals get free education and medical and make deportation of illegals (read: federal criminals) an illegal act. So the rest of the people that actually live here, cant send their kids to school, because now instead of the classrooms being 1 teacher to 20 students, its 1 teacher to 50 students, schools can't grow because the illegals dont pay taxes, which means their money doesnt go to the schools their children attend. That money buys things like books and helps pay for expansion of that school because of the added children. There are entire sections of states that are heavy with illegals moving in that are running out of water. See when you hide your identity, and you dont tell the locals your moving in and you move in by the thousands every day, you tend to put a strain on things like water facilities.

Illegals dont have the right to set rules, since they really dont have the right to be here.

Yes, Li - it is a real problem, not just a prejudice. Right now we have the drug cartels invading the border areas, killing, kidnapping, and black marketing. Women come over the borders to have their babies because the baby is automatically a citizen when born on our soil - they get free medical attention and many hospitals are going bankrupt because of it. There are hostilities because even illegals are given housing, food, and sometimes even cars when our own citizens are living in the streets and going hungry and are getting no help. Our jobs are being taken because no National Language has been mandated and many naturals do not speak Spanish - so only those who are bilingual can have many jobs to support the rapid immigration of hispanics - no other immigrants are getting these benefits. For instance when a Bosnian comes here, they do so with the expectation of speaking English and fitting into the culture which they are moving into.

Right now (as a matter of fact as I write this) our Congress is in closed door sessions to decide what to do about the situation. In my state, they are cracking down on companies that hire illegals because so many of our natural citizens are out of work. For the first time in years here many companies are requiring English to be spoken as a job requirement. There is legislation with over 45 sponsors to kill the law that allows a baby of non-citizen immigrants to automatically take on citizen status. That will stop much of the stress on hospitals and much of the illegal traffic. Making Hemp legal is another law being considered as it will put the drug cartels out of business. Necessity of passports to cross borders is going into effect soon.

So, yes, there is a problem large enough to be considered a crisis at this point, but our President is all for the North American Union so it's being difficult to get anything done about it. Anger is growing though and so are the problems so you will see something happen soon - either by Gov or by the people.

As far as immigration as it is done legally - not many people have a problem with people coming here legally or becoming citizens as long as they continue to show respect for the country that they wanted to be part of. When they start treating people who were born here like dirt, then there is a problem and that is what is starting to happen with the illegals taking over the show.

It's like this - you wouldn't want someone walking into your house uninvited, taking your things, and telling you how to run your home then causing trouble for you if you refuse to oblige them. Same thing.

Ireland had a Constitutional Referendum in 2004 to eliminate automatic citizenship by birth and it passed by a margin of 4 to 1. Obviously, due the difference in population size when compared to the U.S., it was a much smaller problem to begin with anyway, but now it's gone altogether (and pretty much stopped the day after the referendum).

Previously, anyone born in either Ireland or Northern Ireland was entitled to citizenship of Ireland. Now, unless one, or both, parents are already Irish citizens by birth or naturalisation, there is no such entitlement.

Ireland's Constituition features 2 national languages. The first one is Irish and, because it's so widely spoken, English is the second. Tommy - it's different in Europe. Your cultures are exposed to many languages all the time and so your Governments understand how to deal with Di-Glossia. While the people may speak any language they wish - the legal systems and schools, etc run on the main language base of the culture.

Over here we have been linguistically egocentric for around 200 years. Some people learn a year or two of another language in schools, but the vast majority of the natural population speaks only English. Suddenly we have millions of people pouring over the border that can't or refuse to speak the language of the culture -- and our Gov isn't smart enough to know that mandating a National Language is not discrimination - and, in fact, not doing so is reverse discrimination and - at the point that it is causing degradation of the society for the benefit of a third party - it is treason.

I am hoping very strongly that our Legislators are more astute in taking the examples of yours and other countries results in refusing citizenship on basis of birth alone and does what is right for a change. All they have to do is look around to see we are the only country who is allowing such a thing and it is causing problems that are destroying the cultural foundations. We need to get our people educated enough to not elect NAU King wanna bes. That would help - they know it, too, considering cuts in education and the ban on books, drugging of students, etc.

I think Canada still allows it but I'm not 100% sure on that. If they don't, then, since Ireland was, afaik, the last European Union member state to eliminate automatic birthright citizenship, and it's automaticity (is that a word?

) is also gone in Australia and New Zealand, it would seem that the U.S. really is the last Western country that still permits it.

The thing is, other than being uninvited, unwanted by the majority, dividing our country, disrespectful of our laws, this group is racist. and has designs of 'taking back' the land, which they are doing right under our noses.

If they have a politician in office, they only care about their nationality, and cannot say the word American without a hyphenated preface of their nationality.

They think that we should speak their language and unlike all other immigrants, who try to assimilate into our culture, they act like we are retarded when we can't and WILL NEVER understand their babbling.

They are very arrogant about this and I think that is part of the problem and what people here resent, along with the fact we are FORCED to have them OCCUPY our country while our government turns a blind eye.

They care nothing about our country or our citizens (or our flag). Only about their hyphenated people. What they need to do is go home and get their own government to provide jobs and living wages.

Their country is not at war or in poverty and actually the country who sends the most illegal criminals here, have high economic resources, so they are not refugees seeking 'asylum'.

The bleeding heart mantra 'they just want a better life' doesn't hold water anymore - they don't care whose life they steal to get one - it's like a smash and grab - the prisons are full of people who STOLE things because they just wanted something they had no right to take. Yet this group breaks our laws with impunity.

The worst part of all is that our government pays only lip service to enforcing our laws and the will of the majority of the people, (what our government is supposed to be about), instead pandering to the criminal aliens, their corrupt government of origin, and the insane agenda that for some reason we should take care of these 'hardworkers' instead of our own.

"Charity begins in the home". Again, I think of all the elements that are the most egregious here it is the feeling of being RAPED - forced against our will to accept the ILLEGAL OCCUPATION of our country by enemies.

Please note I said enemies, not immigrants. If we have something to share then by all means we need to share - however millions of Americans are unemployed and disenfranchised - while immigrants who work for half are given our jobs.

We need not only to deport the criminal occupiers, but put a lid on legal immigration also, until we have jobs to spare.

Sorry, others, you had a slot but one nationality pushed ahead in line and so along with the American citizens, the legal immigrants will also just have to live with that.

New York State Motorcycle Only Checkpoints 2009

New York State Police, local and county police will be conducting motorcycle only safety enforcement checkpoints again this year. The Governor's Traffic Safety Committee has awarded the New York State Police $227,084 for statewide motorcycle enforcement details along with grants given to the Greece PD, Suffolk and Warren Counties. [1]

These motorcycle only checkpoints target a particular group of individuals which has been determined to be unconstitutional. The Supreme Court of the United States of America has repeated held that "the citizen who has given no good cause for believing he is engaged in (criminal) activity is entitled to proceed on his way without interference" Bandrinegar, supra; see also Terry v. Ohio, supra.

New York State Police have claimed that with the rise in motorcycle fatalities, these motorcycle only checkpoints are to increase motorcycle safety by insuring compliance with applicable Vehicle and Traffic Laws. We have read The New York State 2009 Highway Safety Plan and the state has determined that the most common contributing factor in police reported motorcycle crashes was "unsafe speed" followed by "failure to yield the right of way". [2] New York's motorcycle only checkpoints are not addressing the two major causes of motorcycle fatalities in our state. The State Police have also said in their press release in 2007 that "Approximately one-quarter of all fatally injured motorcycle drivers were unlicensed in 2005."The Highway Safety Plan has addressed the issue of licensed motorcyclists and the extent of the unlicensed motorcyclist problem in New York has not been determined and more research is needed.

The motorcycle only safety enforcement checkpoints are being conducted at the same time as large motorcycle events. The reason given by law enforcement is they need a sufficient volume of motorcycle traffic to justify the substantial number of resources involved. [3] This includes Americade in Lake George and the Harley Rendezvous in Duanesburg. Last year a motorcycle only checkpoint was done along the Niagara Thruway at the Peace Bridge where 780 motorcyclists headed for Canada were stopped.

Law enforcement will be looking for the following violations at the checkpoints:
Inspection stickers and placement of the sticker
Insurance
375 (35c) -unsafe tires
381(1a) -front headlamp not deployed
Rear plate illumination
381((3) lights- only white or yellow
381(4)-approved red reflector in the rear
381(5)-handlebar height
381(6) - unapproved or no helmet:
381(10) - rearview mirrors
381(11) -exhaust pipes
402(1a)- plate must be secure and mounted between 12-48 inches on the rear of the vehicle- not at the rear axle
402(1b)-plates must be clean and easily readable
410(1)-registration
411(1)-plates are required to be "conspicuously displayed on the rear" not on the rear axle
411(3) - switched plates
509(2) - license -operating out of class

Florida snuck something in last year. On July 8th i think they made it so you HAVE to take the motorcycle safety course if you get an endorsement. At the same time they also slid in this little deal for license plates. A lot of guys have custom bikes here, many take their plate and mount it sideways off the shock. Its still visbile, its just vertical.

Nobody really paid attention until bikeweek....and cops were popping people left and right at $1400 per ticket.

And if im not mistaken, ny has that new law for loud pipes. First time is some outrageous fine, like $2k, second time is impound, third time is bike seizure.

I've got no problem with that one.
A friend just took it and said ot was worth every penny.
He's a new rider and said he learned volumes on how to operate a motorcycle and motorcycle safety.

You also had a law passed in Fl. that requires both wheels to be in contact with the pavement at all times.
So don't have an accident and spill your bike.

Yeah, i took the safety course. Well worth it in my opinion. Plus down here you have a lot of kids that have never been on a motorcycle before and go out and buy a 600cc crotch rocket and have no concept of how to ride that machine.

When i went through, there was a girl in the class ahead of us who had a boyfriend that thought he was a fantastic rider. He had a 750 something or other and she had never ridden a bike by herself before. She ended up failing the course because she dumped the bike twice during the test, and they were only like 125cc street/trail bikes.
Her retarded boyfriend had talked her into buying a hyabusa. So this little girl that weighed about a buck ten couldnt keep a 125 up in a parking lot, but was going to be on the street with other riders and cars on a 1300cc 200+ mph crotch rocket. She'll be a greasy spot on the road before her next birthday

I rode in back of a small pack of kids on crotch rockets going from Deland to Bell Fl. last year.What a bunch of idiots. We have them up here also, but damn they are thick down there.

That girl will sit on the busa once, get off and her boyfriend will ride it just like he planned

I still say those crotch rockets are Japan's way of getting back at us for bombing them.

He's a guy down here that from the way he talks and rides, he's probably an ex-jersey motorcycle cop. He puts on some pretty amazing demonstrations of how to handle a big cruiser

Well if you ever run for office Tim, please do not make all your pronouncements in the name of Irish Americans but ALL AMERICANS natural or otherwise.

LEST I FEEL THAT YOU DONT' HAVE THE INTERESTS OF THIS COUNTRY IN MIND BUT ONLY your little group/ghetto/race or whatever.

People should have a right to be proud of their heritage. IF they want to hyphenate, let em. I don't see that it does them much good - some are so obvious that it's a bit nothing more than extra words. African-American. Sure - okay, we couldn't tell that. In Tim's case, it wouldn't be obvious until he stated it.

It's not the pride in one's heritage that hurts -- it's disrespecting the new culture that you supposedly wanted to become part of that does it. The Mexican-American hyphenation on it's own isn't offensive, although most of the time obvious. It is the influx of people of that culture who completely disrespect and are causing trouble for this culture that brings the term to offense. We are beginning to find so many from that culture offensive and even dangerous, that the whole group is going to end up suffering for it and be looked upon with disgust.

It's like that anywhere a massive immigration causes hardships for the host group. This isn't new stuff, folks - been going on since cultures formed. Actually we had one hell of a lot of Mexican immigration going on for a long time and nobody seemed to mind - until recently when the immigrants became problematic, abusive, and financially detrimental. Our leaders talk human rights -- but what they are allowing to happen will form a strong prejudice against Hispanics that isn't going to go away soon or easily.
They just screwed the Hispanics as badly as they are screwing us.

Almost every asylum application in Ireland fails because it's extremely difficult for asylum seekers to arrive here without going through another E.U. member state first, and anyone claiming asylum within the E.U. is supposed to do so in the first member state they arrive in.

That's also why not one person who travels to the U.K. via France or Holland actually qualifies in the first place, even if most seem to be allowed to stay anyway.

I'm glad you pointed that out, Tommy. It seems that anyone in the UK who publicly quotes the legislation to which you've just alluded is instantly labelled as a "racist". (Of course, it's also rather convenient for our European "friends" to forget that it's their responsibility to process these migrants, because it's easier and more voter-friendly to just allow them to pass thru on their way to the UK.)

But the best bit is when French officials actually blame the British for the number of illegals clogging up Calais!

WOW, something I can certainly agree with, regarding the US! I HATE what the US has become, and HATE the government, but the flag is supposed to represent what this country WAS, is supposed to be, and what the constitution still claims! I LIKE the idea of people flying the flag.

What IDIOT would have the AUDACITY to come here and act offended by it? It is symbolic of what made this country great!

One more thing. People claim diversity built this country. *********BULL*********!
It was UNITY in diversity. Even people that were brought up as ENEMIES came here and might have even been helpful NEIGHBOORS! They worked TOGETHER and spoke a COMMON LANGUAGE and fought side by side. HECK, people even tried to keep people out of units fighting related peoples, just because of that.

As for the US laws? They now seem to want to ATTACK white males, calling us all racist and sexist bigots, and they don't seem to realize that, by having that one goal in mind, they even hurt THEMSELVES! We now have people that speak HUNDREDS of languages and some speak NO english, or even any other european language. HECK, Hospitals and utility bills may have several dozen languages. The Motor licensing offices even offer materials in like a dozen languages. How stupid is THAT!?!?!?

Most road signs are ONLY in english, and any attempt to add other languages WILL cut the ability to respond in time, so people HAVE to be able to read english in order to react, but are allowed to have a license WITHOUT the ability to do so!!!!!

They have people immigrate for NO valid reason which reduces resources, increases disease, and creates unemployment. Because of the anti white male sentiment, an immigrant may well get hired over a more capable white male. HECK, I once interviewed TWO people. One was an H4B/w work permit indian(from india) woman. The other was a US citizen white male. I said that they were both about the same. The white male should have been hired because he was a CITIZEN!!!!!!! So WHO was hired? The indian woman! I asked WHY! The answer? DIVERSITY! ******BULL******! There were a LOT of women there, and over 50%, of all workers, were indian! HE would have added diversity!

If people want to get rid of sexism and racism, why don't they do it the RIGHT way? Simply hire based on MERITS! I knew a woman that wanted to be a firefighter, and she worked HARD! I bet she could LEGITIMATELY beat out some guys. But let's face it. Men tend to be stronger, and firefighters SHOULD be strong! So more men are likely to be hired, as firefighters, if on merit. hey, it is hard for MEN too! I wouldn't even ATTEMPT to be a firefighter. But would YOU want to die, or end up with damaged lungs because your "savior" squeaked by on some caprecious tolerance for some "affirmative action"?

A taxicab company owner(white male US citizen) told me how his business was SHUT DOWN because some woman wanted to compete. She failed to do the job, and he is back. The government has now granted some guy from NIGERIA funds to start a competing company. The owner that started the first cab company, in a town that can bearly support it, may soon be put out of business AGAIN! By an IMMIGRANT!

And it isn't like owning such a company is the only game in town! Why didn't that woman start a restaraunt, some administration firm, etc....? As for the immigrant, I think you know where I would like HIM to go!

They think that having all races mix will get rid of racism. That is kind of dumb, especially since everyone looks different anyway. No one race has managed to fully get along. The type of race mixing happened in India, and THEY have castes, etc.... As for Sexism, some supposed "sexism" IS warranted. Some things the other sex can just do better. As for the type that creates spouse abuse, that may NEVER stop, and men and women may attack one another.

BTW My ancestors were German and Irish. My German ancestors came after WWI, so I don't supposed EITHER group was well received. Can I get affirmative action for THAT!?!?!?

Actually, it used to be done that way, at least with whites. People simply didn't like, understand, and/or give credit to, other races. Women were originally not given jobs that were dangerous, dirty, low class, technical, or some other types of talents. At this point, I think people realize that race and sex generally don't play that big a part in anything.

And I am not really whining, just exposing the truth. I've been lucky so far. In fact, this might be my best year. I HAVE had two friends that were DIRECTLY affected by this garbage(one was chinese by the way, but at least a citizen), and some acquaintances that were directly affected(and some were women and black).

And Tim,

If you don't agree with me, you simply don't see the writing on the wall. I saw a lot of bad things in the 80s, and now feel they were due to this. I just didn't know. It didn't even really become painfully obvious to me until perhaps 8 years ago. Even those that don't see a problem with employment or income may see it with a reduction in quality of service, etc... Heck, I stayed at one hotel, and the whole staff seemed to be H1Bs. They might as well have not been there.

As for making white males look bad, do you REALLY think there is anything we can do to even live up to the appalling stereotype, let alone seem worse? I know I certainly couldn't. I have NEVER hit a female, and even rarely hit males. I only hit males in self defense. I did that SO rarely, that they thought I was a coward. Heck, I don't even generally yell. I don't swear. I try to be nice.

Yes, there was some equality in the past, for white males. That was my point. There was much inequality for all others for centuries.

I know I don't hate this country. It's not perfect, but WHEN was it? When there was only discrimination against non white males? No. I think it's slowly getting better, but definately far from perfect.

I agree with some of what you say Steve. I know there are problems with the immigration policy in the US. I just have heard too much lately about the poor white male. Believe me, there's plenty of discrimination among all to go around and one thing I see pretty clearly is the history of this country.

The prejudice against whites is DIFFERENT! Minorities are led to believe we are EVIL! Whites have created so much stuff, etc... that I think only an IDIOT would say whites aren't capable as a group. But to listen to some blacks, hispanics, etc.... you would think that whites were their ONLY problem and that, without "affirmative action" they would destroy all non whites. NEVER MIND that if whites were TRULY that bad, such programs would not exist.

HECK, 1/2 the US fought the other half to free black people. TODAY they tend to say that that was ONLY to improve the economy for the northern states that didn't have slavery. Even if that is correct, it begs the question as to WHY they didn't. Why do people ignore occam's razor so much? Isn't it easier to believe the historical reason that has a lot to back it up than to come up with another reason that creates more questions?

I never claimed it was ever PERFECT. Frankly, what I saw in the 60s seemed better. t just got worse and worse. And I see it getting worse today. HECK, Obama was just "elected" president, even with so much against him, like Wright, and many blacks even ADMITTED theey "elected" him SOLELY because he was black. as for discrimination against ONLY white males? I guess you never got an RFP from the government, or looked at various grants, etc.... The RFPs often come with a little document that states CLEARLY that unless the company is owned by minorities or women, that you should NOT apply! Haven't you wondered why some companies, in fine print at the bottom of brochures, etc... say the company is minority or woman owned!?!?

OK, I ADMIT it! A decade or so, I failed and succumbed to what I said one should never do. I became ADDICTED to a forum! So I was here a LONG time. After my problem in 2005, I came back for perhaps 3 short spurts, this being the last of the three.

BTW I ended up here when I searched for "ticket" to see if there was ANY response to my request for the best tickeet system.

America is SUPPOSED to be a land where free speech is allowed, but that is a LIE! If you are white and say ANYTHING against someone that HAPPENS to be another race(EVEN if you are supportive of most others in that race), it is branded hate speach. If you are in IT and speak against HxBs, WATCH OUT! Your carreer may be on the line. It is SICK.

Anyway, I saw a lot of people talking about this in a non PC("politically correct") manner, and just HAD to "chime in".

As for ME? Well, I was incommunicado for a week, because of "open heart surgery", in 2005. For a week after that, I didn't see any point in doing anything, so I didn't. It basically took 2 weeks to heal from the surgery and all. Things like taking a shower were problematic. So I was effectively cured of my addiction to the forum. I never saw a reason to get readdicted. Surprisingly, I feel better, than I did before the surgery, because of various other things I did. I even recently lost a lot of weight and hope to do better still. So YEP, I'm still kicking.

I did start out with a 'thank you' for your post, so i must have agreed with you. and then started my post saying 2 true (too true, what you said, in case you didn't get that)

Then my post was meant to be totally positive but i didn't articulate very well. just that no one ever overtook your #1 postion for post count although i have been 2-3 most of the time AND I haven't seen you around here in a long time.

The Wag is Stephen Waggenhiem who I think is the chief motor mouth with the highest post count and the only one of the near contenders to ever take your top postion. I guess the only way to overtake you is if you stopped. So that's how that happened.

Sorry, but sometimes I am like the stereotypical teenage boy in one of those comedies! YOU KNOW! A cute girl waves at him, and he waves back ONLY to find she was waving at someone else! Well, I had no way to check around me. You said "2 true", which I got, but I didn't want to assume.

I meant to check out the stats, but didn't even know if they were still here. Actually, there was a woman. I think her name was kay(sp?), who looked like SHE may win the post wars. Willie was also getting a bit close. HEY, I was effectively gone for so many years. For the past 4 years, I posted about as many posts in a year as I used to in a week or less.

HEY, GUSH away. I meant nothing by it.

I'm surprised a lot of people aren't jumping on this to say RACIST(Although that would be ironic because according to liberal theory, minorities would be affected FIRST, so THEY should hate H1Bs MORE), hate speach, etc.... Then again, it IS on the OT board. I found it by accident.

Speaking of liberal theory and minorities, a common MYTH about H1Bs is that they are ONLY in the tech fields. That is WRONG! They are at all levels of hotels, taxis, retail, build companies, and even buy franchises, etc.... Many of the built companies and franchises are done with money given to them by the government. So the resources dry up(because more people need/take them), diseases go up(because of people's hygiene, or coming in with them), unemployment goes up(because they take jobs from americans), AND taxes/costs go up because of "entitlements". BTW that ALSO means inefficiencies which, again, is bad for the environment.

It's long past time that we start speaking our mind. The Gov is SUPPOSED to be our servants, not our owners. They can't take our speech if we don't allow it -- so Speak loud and proud.

Dave - it's easy for you. You don't even have to say "AMERICAN". "Red neck" says everything anyone should need to know....like where the road out of town is and how fast they can get there.

Well, at my current contract, an H1B(that I didn't even know was H1B, as she is from an english speaking country, and sounds american), got a guy fired because HE spoke up! H1Bs are ALL over. I guess I can be happy that I am doing relatively well now(financially), and have an escape plan. If the H1Bs DO affect me too much, I WILL squeal! After I retire, I may write a book about it. MANY don't seem to have ANY idea how bad it is.

BTW IRONICALLY, that H1B person got a BAD reputation, quite some time ago, so you can't claim the US really needs her! We had NO idea she wasn't even a citizen.

The H1Bs are supposed to be granted to fill a NEED of the US! They became popular in the mid 1990s due to the "tech bubble". People wanted a LOT of work at a LOW cost, and claimed there weren't enough citizens.

One of the things I hate about the US is that so many can freely tell disparaging lies, and the truth may even be ridiculed. And you start to wonder if ANYTHING you hear on the news, etc... is true.

I STILL don't believe, for example, that ANYONE, but the president, would DARE to take Air Force One(one of only TWO official planes controlled at the highest level of the Airforce and for the PRESIDENT) on a joy ride without the president's approval. And why would it even be ALLOWED!?!?!?

And recently the president DID take it out for a joy ride, WITH dual escorts, for a date abroad, and people don't understand why people like me arre angry? Just the FUEL, for air force one, costs over $40,000 an hour! It ALSO has a BIG "carbon footprint"! Obama basically brakes four promises and calls himself a hypocrite everytime he does that! And the supporters say he is rich, and paid for "IT"!?!?!?!? Somehow, I don't think he pays the many millions it costs.

One couple on the radio elaborated that he paid for the dinner and tickets. WOOPEE! That is like totalling someones car, having them pay for everything, and then buying an air freshener and claiming you paid the bill.

You would think he would learn from the backlash against the car company CEOs when THEY flew there FAR cleaner, FAR less expensive jets.

I had heard some time ago that this meant people that labored in the fields, and they would, of course, get RED NECKS from being sunburned. Definition #1 kind of agrees with that. Jeff Foxworthy's jokes would be more apt to refer to a hillbillies like those stereotypically from tennessee. They tend to intermarry, which causes a lot of problems. fieldworkers don't.

ALSo, fieldworkers are often in plain areas where there is access to civilization, etc.... hillbillies aren't. That probably explains the inbreeding as well.
