I tried to take the poll - but - seriously - I can't remember what is on what album. Never saw them in concert.

I hope they give you a good show. Some of the bands I saw in their earlier years kinda peter out in the energy on stage after they get old. Ozzy's retirement sucks concert was really dead. He barely moved. I saw him in the early 70's and he was all over the place. Ah well - at least the music is still good even if they can't shake it up like they used to.

Saw them at RFK Stadium in Washington DC in 1972.
    Stevie Wonder opened for them.

      Kudos, Kim.

When I saw them at Wembley in 1982, I remember thinking it was probably my last chance, as they surely couldn't go on much longer. Yeah, right.

Artists like Joni Mitchell and Leonard Cohen - and most blues and jazz musicians - can last forever, but there's a case to be made that rock bands should quit touring while in their prime. Seeing 70-year-olds strutting across the stage as if they were still teenagers is a little unseemly, I think.

That said, some friends who saw the Stones at Glastonbury last summer thought they really rocked the joint, so I'm sure they'll put on a great show in the upcoming tour.

Best album? Dunno. There are several stand-out tracks on most of the LPs listed in the poll, but as my two favorite Stones songs are Angie and Winter, I'd have to go with Goat's Head Soup. However, my earliest and still most enduring musical memory of the band is the first time I heard the opening riff to The Last Time. I played that single to death over the following months.

      Have a good one, David.

For all the detracting comments that the Stones sometimes have thrown their way, who can deny the impressive energy levels and continuing drive of such an ol' bunch of rockers!? If I am half as motivated and sprightly at 70, I'm sure I'll be very proud! A rolling stone gathers no moss etc; Indeed! And long may they rock on!
