    • Two;

"Perhaps we are stronger than we think"

and from Star Trek 6, Scotty said "Then we're dead!"

And Spock said (in total deadpan) "I've been dead before". That's my favorite all time line from any movie.

This is followed closely by Batman Begins, where the crook says "I swear to God!" and Batman says "Swear to ME!"

      Giggetty.
  • About anything by Mae West is funny:

  • I collect quotation books. Picking a favorite would be impossible. I also save words I find online in my own text file, including words from fellow Warrior Forum members. My favorite quote from a WF member is this:

Can you guess who wrote that?

    • That's a great quote!! It has to be a brilliant and super-cool mega-genius, so either you or Claude Whitacre.
      • [ 1 ] Thanks
    • It wasn't me. I rarely write anything that profound. I'm going to go with either Ken Caudill or Paul Meyers.

The 19th century wrestler, The Great Gama, was asked one day why he tried to uproot a tree, with his bare hands, for an hour...every day, when he could never uproot the tree.

He said "Because after a tree, a man is easy".

I heard this in a movie about the army. A sergeant told his men "No matter how bad the situation, there is always one more thing you can do". It really stuck with me.

In a movie, one guy says to a lady while fighting fires "That's impossible" and she said "Everything is impossible, until someone does it". I really liked that.

  • "Just because you're having a storm, does not mean I have to be the one
    wearing a jacket."

(My paraphrase does not really do the original justice, I just can't remember
the exact words. It was something an office manager said in response to
people bringing their drama to work, or needing her immediate help on
something they made into a crisis - in their mind anyway. Good idea to
start a text file for the claudacious, unchurlish stuff I want to remember.)

  • Be excellent to each other.
  • I like this one from Seldom Seen Smith in Edward Abbey's The Monkey Wrench Gang:

One man alone can be pretty dumb sometimes, but for real bona fide stupidity, there ain't nothing can beat teamwork.
  • A man without an ostrich, now that is chaos.
    -Lord Mountbatten
  • How about a couple that make a nice pair.

I like not only to be loved, but also to be told that I am loved. I am not sure that you are of the same mind. But the realm of silence is large enough beyond the grave. This is the world of light and speech, and I shall take leave to tell you that you are very dear. - George Eliot

Looking back I have this to regret, that too often when I loved, I did not say so. - David Grayson

    • What is your favorite quote?

I don't think there is any quote that will be a favorite one for anyone.

Because life has different situation to deal with. So we have to change our favorite quote every time.
  • don't have any favs... or I have too many... what's the difference?

    Here's a good one:

"No, I am your father." - Darth Vader (here's why: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZbV5hn_ET0U)

  • I actually just remembered one of my all-time favorite quotes is
from Allen Says himself... But I don't think we're allowed to post

  • My favorite comes from one of the greatest
TV sitcoms of all time, The Simpsons.

"Ah, Monday morning. Time to pay for your two days
of debauchery, you hungover drones." - Montgomery Burns

Not a fan of the show like I used to be a dozen years
ago, but I still love this guy's demeanor and abrasive humor.
  • Well, it's kind of crude, but it did make me and a friend laugh hysterically when I first heard it.

There's a movie called The Big Picture, which stars Kevin Bacon as a young director trying to hit the big time in Hollywood. In one scene, a real estate agent is showing him an apartment. When Bacon tells the agent he's a director, the agent says:

"You know I used to be a director back in the day. I directed Rocky Mountain Serenade. I was the one who made Red Reardon a star. That no good bum. You know what he did to me? He turned around and crapped in my face. Literally."
  • I love what Will Smith said....if you have a dream just go get it...don't let anyone tell you you can't do it..not even me. He also adds in a live interview that he may not be the most talented or the smartest, but his work ethic is he will die trying...now that's good stuff! Kristie Chiles from Georgia - always inspired!
    • [ 1 ] Thanks
  • I couldn't pick just one...

If at first you don't succeed try, try again... then quit, there's no point in being a damn fool about it.
