If you could only see one public speaker from business, the arts, or any other field, who would it be?

Ahmed Deedat. I envy his style and delivery. Best public speaker I've seen by a long shot.

Neil deGrasse Tyson. Maybe not technically the best, but every time he speaks in front of a room, you can feel his passion for science. He's the Carl Sagan of this generation.

Best marketing speaker? Dan Kennedy. I can listen to him for hours...and have.

What if they're not stars? What if they are holes poked in the top of a container so we can breath?

Historically, there have been brilliant public speakers. Franklin Delano Roosevelt, Winston Churchill, Demosthenes, Ghengis Khan. But none compare to Claude Whitacre. Not even legendary door-to-door salesman Horace Bartholomew Schmidt, The Man In The Plaid Suit himself.

Marketing is not a battle of products. It is a battle of perceptions.

Kurt Vonnegut spoke once at U of M and I've never been so entertained in my life. Lot of fun - lot of deep thought provoking ideas.

Who would I really, really, really like to get lucky enough to hear speak now? Dr. Michio Kaku. That guy rocks my world.

  • My favorite speaker of all time is Sir Ken Robinson. His talk about literally changed my life and how I saw education.

I second that vote. I'm really looking forward to his next book in 2014, The Future of the Mind. Neil deGrasse Tyson is good too, but I've not yet forgiven him for his hand in declassifying Pluto as a planet.

Sir Ken is good too. He can make a dry topic pretty entertaining while still presenting a compelling message.

The title of your thread is different to the question in your OP but to answer the top of this thread; it has to be Anthony Robbins for me. The best (most influential in my life) speaker I've ever seen by miles.
